May be a few months...or years
    Depends on your hard work

It really depends on your methods of getting traffic to your site and the quality of the incentives people receive for going there in the first place. You get out what you put in. If you write informative articles or have an enticing product, people will sign up quickly. If you offer crap, it will be a long wait before you get sign ups, and the ones you get will be mostly tire kickers.
Don't worry about market saturation, if you've got something everyone wants, they will come to you for it. Just focus on the QUALITY of the product, article, report, sales letter, etc. And your list will grow.

Building a list will take some time. I would say at a minimum a few months maybe longer. It all depends on the site and the work you put into it. I wouldn't worry about the list as much as producing a quality site and giving people a reason to go there. Just stick with it.

It's all about how targeted your traffic is
and how desperate those people are to buy
    your solutions.

You can get a profitable online business
with as little as 1000 subscribers.

    10 subscribers a day * 30 = 300

    300 * 4 months = 1200

Can you get 10 subscribers a day? It's
not hard to get the kind of traffic you
    need to accomplish this.

When I first started I blew off list building for years . . . However, once I finally got my head straight and started building my own assets it took me about 2 months to get a 1000 subscribers. Most of these were from ad swaps and solo ads. After I got 1k I just focused on article marketing and forum marketing to increase subscribers.

A good way to start building a list is to take PLR and rewrite it into your own cool report and swap a new cover on it that matches your new site and theme and your good to go. However, you must build a relationship with your list if you want them to be buyers. Pretend they are all your best buddy from school and treat them accordingly. If you do this and are genuine and sincere people will buy what you offer them.

Also, cool thing about having a list is I can instantly send them to any 'new' products I have created. In fact, lately I've been using old PLR and revamping it with new covers and graphics and sales copy and it works wonders.

    Good Luck

That's kind of like asking how long is a piece of string. It depends on your traffic level, the conversion of your squeeze page, etc. There are several ways to build your list quickly after you have a squeeze page if you have some money to blow. You can use PPC to send traffic to it or you can buy solo ads from those with large lists in the niche. That is probably the fastest avenue I know of. If you need free methods article marketing is very effective if you keep it up for a sustained period of time.
