Somebody turned me onto Firefox about 7 or 8 years ago. At that time it did run faster and better than Internet Ex. but recently I was having problems so I switch to Internet Ex. and noticed when u put a word in search paid ads come up. Now I know u are going to think I am nuts but Firefox does not have that feature or I do I have a setting turned off I use Yahoo for search I know I am from the old school 55 years old and married to the same women for 28 years so bad habits are hard to break. So anyhow what am I missing?

Will all my settings be there if I switch?

Yes, while installing it will prompt you to save settings from Explorer or Firefox or both (if i remember correctly, it is both), you need to just click yes and it will save everything for you in chrome, even including the history from those browsers.

i checked it myself to be sure, and yes, all your settings will be kept, yet i don't believe Google chrome is the answer; it lacks a lot of important features that many other browsers have or doesn't support certain interfaces etc...the battle for supremacy is really between internet explorer and Firefox..i tested a lot of browsers, and Firefox works the best from my point of view...you used it for so long... isn't it better to try and solve your problems with the browser, than switch to another one?

I don't know what's the missing featured but I'd say go for Google Chrome.

It's much better than either of those. Much faster, too!
I can't disagree with that, because it is 'lean' but does not have the functionality of some of the other popular browsers - but that will change over time - believe me - then it will slow down!

Bear in mind that whatever browser you use, then the more 'add ons', 'functionality' and/or 'settings' that you apply, will almost certainly slow your browser down. Eventually to a crawl ... and at my age, moving about on hands and knees is a definite no no!

        Just my thoughts,

        Jeff.

Sounds to me like you have an ad blocker plugin installed in Firefox. Any mention of it on the Tools menu?

Google Chrome is a great browser, though not sure if it will import your Firefox settings and bookmarks etc. Why not just install and give it a whirl? You won't lose anything from Firefox.

    Good luck!

Thanks I use roboform to save passwords but I noticed Chrome will ask u if u want to save passwords. I used to use gator ewallet or something like that but that was many moons ago.

Last I checked Roboform (which I use and love) only had beta support for Chrome (and it was sketchy at best)

Google chrome it the best browser, the fastest and safest. And on roboform, it is useful for you to sign up quickly... I am also using this plug-in to log-in and access my account

Google Chrome has new competition in the form of Firefox 4 Beta, which was just recently released a few days ago. Now FF 4 is every bit as fast as Chrome in rendering pages (I'd venture to say even slightly faster), starts up quickly (even faster than Chrome on my machine), and features crash protection as well. Not once has it crashed since I started using this Beta build several days ago, and it's only going to get better once the stable Full Release version comes out!

I keep getting a script error on Firefox for the last 3 months. After a web page takes a while to pull up an error page comes and ask u do u want to continue or stop the script. I have installed 4 or 5 virus scanners and fire fox thinks it is being caused by a yahoo toolbar. I have been using Chrome all night and this script has not come up one time. I must admit I like firefox better but for some reason it has slowed down my computer quite a bit.

I'd suggest you do this then. Completely uninstall your existing version of Firefox, and then download and install FF 4. Believe me, it'll be a world of difference in terms of speed!

Why not settle for Firefox if you dont want ads? They have lots of available add-ons for free. I agree with paulie, Firefox is better even in terms of speed. I cant even compare Firefox with Google Chrome.

As everyone else is saying Google Chrome is one of the best browsers out there right now. I have enjoyed it especially since its starting to get extensions (addons) for the browser.
