Yes, CB has always been fluctuating like that. You just have to live with it. I've had months without sales and then suddenly 3 sales in one day.

Yes it's something that does happen. Sales in any niche etc will fluctuate, even different times of day, different days of the week, different seasons even.

It's to be expected and that's why it's ALWAYS recommended that you promote a range of products through a range of affiliate opportunities, have your own products etc, and have various income opportunities.

If you've made sales before then you will again. Look back at what worked before and duplicate it.

In any business there's up and downs but the problem with Clickbank is that, do they do tracking properly? I'm sure we've lost many sales just because of the poor tracking. It will always fluctuate though besides if you really set up a powerful such as using SEO to drive targeted traffic to your affiliate sites.

colleen ..this is so true, I wrote an ebook six years ago about classifieds advertising and it made sales at least 3per month or so and i was not getting much traffic(about 1 to 10 visits per day).I knew nothing much about article marketing and was not so good with adwords at the time. I think that ebook would sell today if I bring up the site again and pound it with article marketing traffic. I am gonna test it, I have all of my clickbank invoices saved on my computer from back then as proof that it made sales

This is usually to do with the people buying the products and searching the net... You say 5 days, so since monday/tuesday then. This usually only means the type of people who would usually buy your product may not buy it due to money or other problems. Don't worry soon I am sure it will pick up for you.

That hardly inspires confidence in CB then does it?

How can any one run a business with such uncertainty?

It's to be expected and that's why it's ALWAYS recommended that you promote a range of products through a range of affiliate opportunities, have your own products etc, and have various income opportunities.
Yep we all know that - but why should it be expected? Ok, perhaps I am being the Devil's advocate on this one!

Yet there are recognised authorities (g-u-r-u-s) out there who claim to be making a fortune out of using CB.

I wonder how many will find and post to this thread and explain how to overcome any or all of the pitfalls that can arise when when using CB?

I hope many, but let's see. After all, this could be a very important issue to some.

      Just my thoughts,

      Jeff.

I'm so sorry for you. That's got to be
        scary.

But, like another Warrior stated, you
can't put all your eggs in one basket.

        I mix it up...

I promote my own stuff, ClickBank Stuff,
        Commission Junction Stuff, Instant Commission
        Offers, and even CPA offers.

With article marketing and video marketing
I'm able to stay on top of my game and have
income coming in at all times...

I hope your sales pick back up and shoot
        through the roof...

This a prime example of why one should NEVER put all their eggs in one basket. If the basket should break, all the eggs are lost, but if you have several baskets, then you can still safely protect your eggs.

I have 5 different consistent streams of income I built up over the course of 6 years stemming from internet related business activities. Some people have way more than that even.

You've been a member here a while & I can assume that you've also experimented with multiple business models simultaneously. In that respect, re-analyze your marketing efforts / campaigns, sort through the statistics of whats been working & what hasn't, eliminate (drop) what's not working, & restructure your campaigns to focus more on what is. Once you have all that isolated, go back to the basics and start dedicating some serious time in your campaigns again. Continue to research new niche markets and add one or 2 to your daily routine list to test them out.

Building paid subscriptions as an affiliate or merchant will help you avoid the panic attacks.

It's great to have consistent money coming in when the chips are down.

      Raquel,

I really can't say much, as I haven't worked at this in a month or two, but I did make $200 in 3 days about 2 weeks ago. I haven't made a sale since. I'm really not expecting ANY sales, but I did experience what you are going through a few months ago.

I'll agree, it is scary. You start to wonder what is going on. Don't worry, just keep working at it. Like the others said, these things come in cycles.

Talking about jumping to conclusions. We know nothing about her business model. About her websites. Testing or tracking that she's done. We don't know her niche(s), is her traffic organic, PPC, we know nothing to assume it's something to do with ClickBank.

I could jump to the conclusion that all her sites were sand-boxed by Google so no more traffic which means no sales.

Obviously she's not going to get into specifics. I won't share all my niches or sites either in a public forum. But it's impossible to offer any solid advice from the OP. We don't know anything behind the scenes to comment.

Oh my god! I'm having the same problem!!! Haven't made a SINGLE sale in the last 8 days!!! About 16 days ago I made my first $100 day, I was SO happy! Then suddenly it dropped to almost nothing.

It's so darn disheartening. Yet I know that it just can't be Clickbank at fault can it? Surely it has to do with the market. Despite that I'm still tempted to go for Ejunkie.

lol I just finished setting up my account and sales process on Ejunkie (2-month free trial), when I noticed a sale on Clickbank - the first in over 8 days, lol.

Bagh, the sale is also from a new salespage I'm split-testing since yesterday. Not sure if I should still make the switch to Ejunkie :s

Fellow Warriors... it has nothing to do with the fact that it's ClickBank.

There are over 17,000 products to choose from on ClickBank.

Your sales might not be consistent for a number of reasons:

    1) You're not building an email list. If you did, once you make a sale, you can continue selling to that same customer.

    2) You're not building any kind of continuity or paid subscriptions.

    3) and much more...

...To say it's a problem with ClickBank doesn't even make sense.

This may have nothing to do with ClickBank at all. Which is why you should always always track your traffic. You wouldn't panic as much if you knew what was causing your lack of sales. This could easily (and most likely) be caused by a ton of other things, including a drop in the search engines, server problems, or just normal yearly cycles. But you'll never know any of that if you're not tracking your traffic.

What you could do for now is to go into your CB analytics and see if the number of your hops has gone down. This would most likely indicate a problem outside of Clicbank.

I agree with Garyv totally. Also look in Clickbank Analytics page for order form impressions. A high number of order form impressions but no sales generally means one of two things:
      a. people are low on cash at the moment which is why you should be capturing their email. You can hit them up later.

      b. The sales page does not create enough desire/urgency to but NOW. But if you've had success with this product before it's probably a.

Question: Why are my Clickbank product sales drying up?

        Possible Answers:

        1. The product has reached the end of its life cycle. Not all products are
evergreen. Some products don't age well at all. Others can last for year.
If you're promoting just one product, it could be nearing the end of its
        life cycle.

        2. If it's just a few days or a short period of time, it could be due to the
time of year or a change in the economy that has affected that particular
market. Some products will sell well in a bad economy (debt relief) while
others are more of a luxury and can be done without. How desperate are
        YOUR buyers?

        3. There is more competition in your niche and somebody has taken
away a significant part of your traffic. If you don't track your traffic
stats, rank in the SERPs, etc., you would have no way of knowing this.

        4. There is more affiliate theft in your market because the market itself
has become more attractive to new affiliates, some of whom may have
less than honorable ways of making a sale, such as cookie stuffing, etc.

        5. More of the market itself has become aware of the fact that you can
buy through Clickbank using your own affiliate ID and are doing just that,
thus cheating you out of your sale.

        6. The merchant who created the product made changes to the sales
page or other parts of the process, thus drastically lowering conversions.
Check to make sure everything is as it was. Heck, the site itself could be
down and you just don't know it.

I could keep going but I think you get the point. It's not like people
look at a product (outside of affiliate thieves) and say, "Oooo, a Clickbank
product...I'm not buying that crap." Most people, unless it's a product in
the "make money" niche itself, wouldn't know a Clickbank product from
a hole in the wall. Thus, your loss of sales has nothing to do with the
fact that the product you're selling comes from Clickbank.

Unless you're tracking your campaign and know every little thing that's
going on with it, speculation that Clickbank is the cause of your problems
is not only pointless but dangerous.

Imagine if you had decided to stop selling all Clickbank products because
        of what's happening right now.

For the record, the last 2 days, I had more Clickbank sales than I have
had in quite a while, and I don't even actively promote that many Clickbank
products outside of the ones that are on some of my niche sites that gets
traffic from articles and organic searches.

Until you understand exactly what's going on with your business, your
        "panic" is pointless.

Not sure how much this has helped but I hope at least a little.

Ok I've made my switch to Ejunkie and just made my first Ejunkie sale this morning.

I can't see any reason why Clickbank could be to blame for my almost complete lack of sales over the last two weeks, but I guess I used it as motivation to get off Clickbank and its high processing charges, and onto Enjunkie and Paypal.

You have to admit, the Paypal order form is so much more familiar than the Clickbank one. Plus on Paypal you get to have a wide (736 pixel) picture on the order form, where I've used a small icon and the title of the product and my name in big bold writing going across the screen. So I expect the Paypal order form will convert better. But time will tell I suppose.

And just to add, I have a small level of distrust for Clickbank from my previous affiliate efforts.

You should first see if the traffic to your sites is sustained or falling. Again many buyers don't buy it on impulse - if they return to your page after a few days you will get the sales. Nobody can predict this pattern.

Also, many niches have a seasonal trend .. especially as the year end approaches, most buyers go after niches related to gifts, parties etc and so the other niches suffer.

I've done poorly with CB lately. I have my own product but sales have been pretty slow. So much for affiliates making you $$$$ - the problem is that 95% of them are promoting 5% of the products on there. When I reach minimum payout I'm outta there.

I do promote a few other products but again the pipeline has dried up. Only one CB thing I promoted ever sold, the rest were turkeys.
