How Many Exact Match Searches Do You Look for in a Domain Name?

Im just wondering, as Ive been doing kw research for over 2 days now and the best I could find is 9k exact matches per month exact match keyword domain on a .org which was the only one available.

This is the best I could find, and I usually find good ones that I create sites upon that only have around 3-4 k per month hits on the exact match.

So my question is am I going too low for exact matches? What should I try and aim for? What do you guys deem a good exact match number to be? Also when you find one, do you tend to make a seo site for it or just try to rank a sub page for it on another site???

Thanks!!

Well something to keep in mind is not necessarily the number of people searching the term but also the competition. The best keyword to find is the highest number of searches and the lowest amount of competition.

Ok, basically you want the highest search number for that term then. Say I make a website based on the keywords "make money online" well there is tons of searches for that and there is a high competition I could try to make that search term work but it will be hard and I will have to be dedicated since it has a high amount of competition. Do you see where I am getting at with this?

Oh my bad sorry I skipped over a few words haha. It does not really matter whether your domain is .org or .com especially if you can get a awesome domain on a .org domain. Sorry about that!

The highest with the worse competition and
    a reasonably high Adwords CPC.

    How do you determine competition?

The ability to get the exact match domain with anything over 1k searches per month is a huge bonus to your ability to rank extremely well with minimal backlink effort. See my post here for more in depth discussion on the exact technique > http://www.warriorforum.com/adsense-...-answered.html

You will obviously need to consider the page 1 competition for your target keyphrase. I talk more about this in the discussion link I provided.
