My .co domain shopping spree

Godaddy seem to be alternating between .com and .co as their default for purchases. Obviously .co is a good way for them to make more money!

When I first heard about this (coincidentally, I'm currently in Colombia, which .co belongs to), I decided to go on a bit of a shopping spree and bought a bunch of Spanish and Italian words that end in .co.

What do you think?

sarcasti.co linguisti.co terrifi.co tampo.co supersoni.co hecti.co astronomi.co tedes.co problemati.co estereotipi.co

Should I continue to sit on them (full words are hard to come by these days), set up a site for each of them, or leave them redirecting to my language-relevant product as they currently are?

Anyone else get on the .co bandwagon, or do you just see it as an annoying addition to having to protect your brand?

What would you sell with those kind of domains though?

I have numerous .co domains, but only one of them are in spanish. I have built sites on quite a few of mine and am still building on them. They are doing quite well.

I'm not sure I see the advantage. Even if you have a memorable domain name, people will automatically try to type ".com" instead of ".co" - they're pretty much conditioned to do so. You'd have to do some heavy SEO and online marketing to rank the site and make up for it...

I am an investor in .Co and know the people who run the TLD.

Most of my co names are all strong keyword domains in niches I focus on like credit and debt. I also run a blog about BMWs (another passion of mine) on Bimmer.co.

The people at .Co launched the extension so people could build real sites on the domains rather than parking which happens to so many premium .com's while the owners wait to sell them.

.Co is not for typos or TM squatting - it's for building real brands online - I'm a big fan

Yes, I'm also not part of the .com typo camp. Each of the domains I listed above are full genuine words, just with a dot in them.
