Seeking Help Spending Money

Everyone,

I'm a very new marketer but I have been learning and working my butt off for about two months now. I was inspired by this forum to try out the 30 day challenge, and since then I've tried 15 different things and more.

I just read a post yesterday admonishing someone for not being focused enough, so i've decided to focus on my autoblog/adsense sites (I have 10).

My question is this I have about 500 dollars left from a offline SEO consult and I need to know how I can best spend this money to help my business out in the long run. Buying domains and the basics are a no brainer. I'm looking for the best services and where to get them.

I'm losing my house in about a week, not like it matters, but I'm just saying - I've committed to IM as a career. Go easy on me - I'm new

Thanks in advance, Peter

Start building a list, get an auto-responder and start building a list. Forget about working for pennies on AdSense sites.

I know what I just said is kinda vague, but by building a list, and thus a relationship with that list, it is as good as having money in the bank.

Focus your time, energy and money on building the list. Too be 100% honest, there are really only two things you should focus on, and they are:

    1. Build Your Audience (Your List)
    2. Build Your Income Producing Assets

And that is it, hope that helps

That is one thing I haven't tried yet is building a list. I am up against the gun and always considered that a very long term strategy. I might get my self a aweber account and give it a go.

My 10 blogs are completely automated and sadly I don't put much work into them. I made three of those blogs in one night - then got side tracked by developing clone sites etc. Really none of these have been successful yet.

I've been trying to build backlinks but I struggle to get 5 a month, somehow even pinging my forum profiles I can't seem to get them to show up.

      Thanks, Peter

    Hey Peter,

It's good to see that you are getting focussed. However, you may need to focus on ONE adsense site at a time, not all 10 because you won't go anywhere unless they are all quite established.

Are the adsense sites making money yet?

I run a high-quality link building business for a very cheap price, you can check it out in my sig if you are interested. Please contact me first for a discount too.

If you want to handle SEO youself, I would suggest you use some great SEO tools.

My suggestions would be Article Marketing Robot &/or Article Marketing Automation. These tools are very helpful and I use them all the time.

Whatever you do, make sure you are spending your time targeting money keywords. Check if people are paying for adwords adds for those keywords to check that they are money keywords, then find out what they are doing with their traffic and copy it.

If you can rank these keywords you will surely make profits.

I strongly believe that you should not invest in IM, beyond the basics like a site and hosting which costs hardly anything, until you know what to invest in.

Try different methods and approaches and once you start making money on a small scale it will become apparent where you need to invest some cash in order to scale things up/make more money.

Don't go out and spend money on tools or whatnot and then figure out a method; figure out your method and then you will see where to invest money to make more money.

That's not bad advice I'm sure. I just figured that I need quality backlinks, quality tools, and quality methods that will help me earn. I'm prepared for the long haul and have always been prepared. Thanks for the lesson - Frankly I think I'm not giving my methods enough time to work. Which is why I've already done 15 methods and tried many more.

I'm thinking of dropping a few 5 spots on Fiverr for backlink services. Is that even worth it at this point? I don't think I'm going to be making a hill of beans with 5 backlinks a month considering what I've been hearing.

You should definitely research and find one strategy and stick with it until you start making money from it.

Many people jump from one thing to the next, and if it was really that easy everyone would be making money.

A list is a very profitable thing to build and if you are in it for the long haul it can be a lot more successful and stable than an Adsense site.

I suggest you take a look at A Journey of My Own

This is a blog by Jackson, an internet marketer who started from nothing and followed the Affiloblueprint guide to reach about $2K/mo in 12 months with affiliate websites and building lists.

It is highly inspiring and give some great ideas on how to get started.

Autoblogging will make you money in the long-term and provide a reasonably steady income stream, but for the best performance, you might better take Nicholie0990's advice. The most secure business you will have will be from your own list of customers.

One successful IMer explained the value of his list. His wife wrecked her car so he created a new product, launched it and offered it for 1/2 price to his list. His first cash purchase in the business was to buy his wife's new luxury car just from the money he made from the secret launch to his list. (Don't promise your wife a new car next month.

Well, I just setup a trial on Aweber tonight and I am working on building my first list. I have a recipe site that is doing fairly well on Adsense and I think it might be a good place to start.

As usual, every new avenue I explore wastes another night. I feel like I've been working 160 hours a week, probably more.

      Thanks all, Peter

Well, it's great that you have an aweber account set up but in order to build a list you're gonna need traffic.

Find the best keywords for all your sites with a program like Market Samurai and then write good seo friendly content around those keywords.

Then, backlink the hell out of those sites using article marketing, social bookmarking, profile link, etc.

This strategy has worked for most of my clients. With a little determination, I don't see why it can't work for you.

      Good luck!

    Hey @ newb52...start with what you've got re: myonlinepsychicreadings.com...

Your 5-day old blog is already indexed which is a good start...optimize both on page and off-page - make sure you also have a form ( sidebar-top right) to collect leads.

There are WSO that will guarantee your blog to be in Google's first page for a keyword that get's at least an "X" number of exact searches per day...

otherwise, you can learn and do the process yourself by starting to build pages and backlinks for your existing blog, optimized with these keywords:

    * best psychic
    * online tarot reading
    * psychic predictions
    * online psychic

( you have a pretty strong competition for your url's keywords , "online psychic readings" ) so i wouldn't start on that...

    I hope this helps

    regards,

Thanks everyone for the great replies - That brings me to my next point. Market Research. I won't go too deeply into my trials and tribulations on the subject but to put it mildly its very challenging.

I am using a 30 day challenge trial for Market Samurai and it's a great tool (albeit slow as hell). It just seems like I get very frustrated with the lack of results + the extreme slowness.

My reasoning behind my choice of "online psychic readings" is that nearly all the sites at the top of Google are pure and utter crap that provide no utility to a visitor. If my site had actual value - like umm I don't know offering actual online psychic readings I might beat them.

I just seem to make poor decisions trying to break into markets that are too competitive I guess.

Content per se has nothing to do with your ranking. You can be the best writer ever, offering the best content about "online psychic readings" but i doubt that alone will get you to Google's first page ( more so when you're competing against 180-POUND gorillas).

I posted those keywords for you that you can realistically compete with....

Use these keywords to rank. You can always add more pages to your blog when you're already on top, where you can write about subjects you are passionate about...

Moneymarker - thanks for the helpful posts. It's all coming back to me now. I had originally planned to target online psychic but I decided why not throw an extra keyword onto my domain.

Thanks for making me realize this haha. I will use your suggestions, thanks!

I'm going to tell you something that you probably won't like to hear - no one will help you earn. The only person who will help you earn is you yourself. You can buy a method, and get help with the method (if that's what you want) but in the end there's a lot of work involved, and no one will help you with that.

Online psychic reading is a bit of a hard sell because people don't see the value in it. It's unexplainable. If you could for instance, predict lottery numbers, then it wouldn't be such a hard sell because then people would see the value in it.

Now say you give it away free. And then do the work required to drive people to your site. And then had PPV/PPC ads on it.

If you get really popular you could even incentivize it.

I'm new to this so you should probably take my advice with a grain of salt, but I'm thinking that if you have to ask "What should I spend money on?" then you really shouldn't be spending money on anything. Does that make any sense? I think that if you're going to spend money on something, it should be because you know you need that product/service, not because you think you should be throwing money at something.

    Just my 2 cents.

Hi Peter- If you are into adsense, you may want to get in on this WSO titled

((CRAZY OFFER) Professional Team Builds Niche-Targeted Adsense Websites Guaranteed To Make You Money!).

before it vanishes for a long time.

    Heres that link http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...you-money.html

I have been doing this exact service on my own for the last year and now that there is someone actually providing all the pieces and a guaranteed monthly income or money back, that's a win win in my book. I know this space really well as I deal in it on a daily basis and having a service in my pocket that has a team already in place allows me to work on my own sites while I know in the future a income stream is being built for me.. A+.

One of the packages goes for $449, gets you 5 websites completly created, optimized and ranked making $20/month each, so $100/month total at the end of 4 months guaranteed or money back. And details will be coming out soon about a maintenance package if you want those sites to be expanded beyond the original agreement, sounds like this service will do that as well.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,
    ej

WARNING: Don't get caught up in learning new things. You probably know all you need to know to start making some money.

Write down some specific goals that you have and don't move from them. Follow them and don't give up. Being successful is really all in your mind. If you make up your mind to become a great IMer then that is your first step. Next, just focus on action and completing one step at a time.

I think you really need to focus on picking 1 - 5 strong niches and build authority sites for each one. This means they must have unique content that is very relevant.

You'll find it almost impossible to beat an authority site in the psychic niche. Those sites have probably been established for over a year. It takes time for newer sites to get a permanent position in the rankings. And, your site needs to have some unique information for that audience.

It seems like you're looking for the perfect "whizz bang" method that will quickly turn into lots of profit - enough for you to keep a roof over your head.

Unfortunately, it just doesn't work that way. I think you need a plan B in case your blogs don't produce much income.

Maybe you can offer to build auto blogs for people in the Warrior for Hire section.

I agree with the guy above about building a list. You're not going to make a living over night. With a list, if you keep at it, you'll make a living.
