Wow. I can't believe I did not know about this. But here we go. There is no reason to own camtasia for mac. Why? Because Quicktime can do the same thing. If you have Mac Snow Leopard, (10.6) just open up quicktime and go file - new screen recording. Wow.... I just saved myself $100 bucks!

I use a mac sometimes and it has snow leopard as well. I don't like using the quicktime screen recorder because it doesn't let me choose the area I want to record and also it only allows mic recording and no system audio. Im still a fan of either screenflow or camstasia for mac and on my pc im still using cam studio.

The Quicktime screen recorder is pretty basic, and if you need all the high-end features and sophisticated editing options, then you'd still want to get Camtasia.

I have a mac and was unaware of this thanks draede. I do like camtasia but i agree it was pricey to purchase. I checked quicktime out not bad at all.

Nice way to save 100$.
...But Quicktime doesn't offer something more than Camatasia, it is more basic also.
