How does Twitter work exactly, can you post a link to a landing page in your blog messages.

I almost always remember my dreams and I thought that twitter could be a good way
to post short messages on my dreams ( and perhaps make a little money in the progress by promoting an appropriate affiliate program)

Could this work?

Sincerely
Karl

there are many different ways that you can drive traffic with twitter. Leaving a link in the tweet itself is only one way.

But, you are totally correct when about being able to drive traffic with twitter.

Twitters a great tool to drive traffic and build relationships. The great thing about it is people like to buy from people they know, like and trust.

So, twitter lets you build those relationships to easily move into selling mode.

    Works wonders.

Keep in mind that you can only make each post 140 characters - so your dreams would have to be short.
Like Steve said, you can post links in your posts, but I agree it could be a little difficult to make sales with your dreams.....
Maybe start a blog and use twitter to give a link to your followers so they can read you latest blog post. Once there somehow use your dreams as a metaphor for why they should buy a product you are promoting?

I think it is definitely worth a try. Yes you can put your link in your Tweet so go for it. 140 characters is all that's allowed so hopefully you have a very short website URL. Good luck.

Twitter automatically converts long URLS into tinyurl ones.
Or you can use tinyurl to create a custom one.

Use Twitter to build relationships and to drive people to your blogs, websites, etc (main pages, back pages, etc).

Some folks have running tips that they "tweet" ... so you're not just asking for people to come to your site/blog, but you're also providing them with tools, tips, information, etc.

Following a dozen or so folks from here at WF and watch what they do. They have fun, chit-chat with others, provide tips, post your urls, etc. A good mix.

Twitter is a powerful tool and YES you can post to a landing page of your choice. You should use twitter as a place to share relevant, quality content and products/services.

This should be part of your arsenal as a Web 2.0 or 3.0 marketer.

**You can also incorporate Twitter with your Facebook**

    Now that is powerful leverage!!
Don't tell anyone I told you about this one
