Thesis theme question

Hellow every one,

I am currently considering buying thesis theme to put up my sites.

I am sure a lot of people here would already have used it. Can someone who has used it post a short review about it?

I'd really appreciate if you could answer these questions for me.

1. How good is it in terms of getting your pages indexed
2. Does it only help with indexing or helps to rank better as well? If yes, how well? Can you please give some "before and after" examples?
3. Overall, is it worth the investment?

    Hi there,

    My own experience is with the templates from StudioPress - Premium WordPress Themes
    They use Genesis and from what I can tell they are excellent frameworks to use

    StudioPress Themes

    I think some of these vouchers will work for a discount

      I purchased Thesis and like it very much. there is a bit of a learning curve involved, especially if like me you are technically challenged.

      The best person that I know of to speak to is Martin Malden. He knows a huge amount about Thesis and helped me set up a site using These. In fact he has an article on his blog that you mightlike to have a look at Thesis Theme Tips, Techniques and Tutorials | Create an Awesome Home Business. You will also find a number of other posts he has written related to Thesis.

        1) Your internal linking structure and your backlinking activities are what affect your site's indexing... Not really the theme you use.

        2) As for rankings... Well, it basically has the All in One SEO Pack-plugin's features built in. These features are important, but you can apply them to any theme using All in One SEO Pack (or any other similar plugin).

        3) Yes. But don't think of it as an SEO-theme. It's good because it's SO customizable. Though... If you dislike coding, Thesis is probably not the best solution for you. It's definitely not the easiest theme to use.

          So the All in one SEO pack is similiar to Thesis Themes bread & butter with SEO customizations?

    My company uses Thesis on a regular basis. We have created numerous blogs and blogs that perform as websites. We often use flash banners and are now adding in motion graphics videos to the Thesis based blogs/websites. My design and development team has very positive feedback about this format. Best wishes.

      Look, I make a living as a WordPress consultant, and I've worked with clients who were using Thesis, and frankly I don't like the theme because it isn't newbie friendly, and in my opinion, it's over-used, and over-rated.

      If you're going to spend the money on a premium theme, I would suggest you look at other options, such as Woo Themes or StudioPress.

    Asim,
    I love Thesis and use it on most of my sites. (The others are slowly being migrated over.)

    For me, the benefit is in the design control...

    I don't have any proof that it helps purely from an SEO standpoint...but it doesn't seem to hurt.

    The customizations are what really make it easy to work with...and it's really easy to copy the custom files from one site to the next and keep a sharp design and layout without much work.

    Asim, the Thesis theme is very clean and has an open code structure that makes it easy for the search engines to search and index your content. It's not a magic bullet to getting your site ranked though, as that ultimately will depend on the kind of content you put on it. The nice thing about it is that it's really hard for you to screw up with the titles, descriptions and overall layout, as Thesis has an easy to use interface where everything is easily accessed.

    It's definitely worth the investment as it's tremendously flexible, search engine friendly and has incredible in-house support (and lots of independent support from raving fans as well). That alone would make it worth the price of admission, and in addition to that you get free lifetime upgrades whenever a newer version of Thesis is released!

      Thanks for your insight, I found it very valuable. So from the responses, this is the conclusion I have come to;

      Thesis is basically not a SEO theme as it popularly known to be. I am basically looking for a SEO theme. I dont really need a lot of design customization, at least not for now. StudioPress looks like a very good option here you get point and click design functionality as well.

      If you're going to spend the money on a premium theme, I would suggest you look at other options, such as Woo Themes or StudioPress.
      @Karen Can you please give me some more insight as to whether StudioPress or Voo themes have any added SEO benefits that would make things easier for me or if they have something thesis theme does not?

        I recommended those premium themes only because compared to Thesis, they are far easier to work with and really nice too. However...

        When a theme vendor says their theme has added SEO benefits, it makes me laugh. Basicly all it means is that it's got some built-in plugins which you can easily install yourself.

        WordPress, in of itself, has SEO benefits, with the built in ability to create "pretty permalinks". There's your number 1 SEO benefit right there. Pretty permalinks, are simply the custom permalink structure that you can easily set yourself under general settings. Install Platinum SEO plugin and Google Xml Sitemaps plugin...and add your own original quality content with a great keyword-rich title and your main keywords mentioned twice in your page or post, and you're done. That's all the SEO you need. And don't let anyone tell you anything different because it's all just smoke and mirrors.

        FYI, I don't use fancy premium themes for any of my sites or my client's sites. Uusally I create custom themes based on their design requirements, or I create child themes for either Twenty-ten or Graphene (both free themes!)

        I'm not sure what you mean by 'SEO Theme', Thesis is very SEO friendly and makes it extremely easy to optimize your blog for the search engines. There is no theme out there that is automatically going to SEO your blog for you...I sense that this is what you're looking for, but it simply does not exist!

    I use Thesis and a purchased "skin".

    VERY happy.

    Thesis is more than a theme plus ALL-IN-ONE-SEO plugin, because, quite frankly, I find the plugin configuration a bit daunting - I just don't have time for all of that, or the nagging to donate for it.

    Thesis saves me TIME, I get a better looking result than I would otherwise.
