Questions on # Articles to start and ping question

When you create a new site (blog), is there anything wrong with starting out with 5-10 articles or even more so that whomever lands there has a greater chance to spend a bit more time reading? Then just drip in the rest of the content daily until you get as many as the keywords/long tails work.

As to the above, would you do it differently if you were using Blogger or another free place from what you would do if using WordPress.

Pinging:

Does the main site itself get pinged repeatedly if using the automated system on WP, or is it the new article(s) that were just put on?

Anyone with experience using a bunch of articles to start -- did that help or harm?

If someone knows what the auto ping does, that would be helpful to know too.

i'll answer your first question and let other fellow warriors reply for the second one

first of all, when you are a beginner you need to make sure your articles are pretty much flawless when it comes to creativity, appeal, right keywords etc. second, you should do as many as you can, because starting with a very small number of articles won't help you to become easily spotted on google..i'd say you should try uploading at least 10 all at once, then start uploading at least 2 articles per day.

There is nothing wrong with this idea. In fact, it's a good one The goal is to keep people on your site, so that they are inclined to check out what else you have to offer. IMO, you can never give them *too* much solid information. The more great content you have to offer them, the more likely they are to think that you're a real expert in your niche. And, if they think of you as an expert, they're more likely to buy from you - or remember you when they need to buy something.

    Ping after adding new articles.

Post some of your original articles out there on other high PR sites as well.

wordpress pings when you post or when you update by default (you can get in trouble if you update your post like 5 times in a minute).

Recommended to ping your sites regularly on days you are not posting items. but switch up which link you ping daily.

Free pinger download for pinging mass websites.
