That´s a good question my friend, and at first you should figure out a few factors:

1) Who is your targeted market
2) How are you going to market it
3) Your niche

There are many hot affiliate programs out there, and you can most definitely make money with them, but only when you know the proper online marketing strategies.

Make sure to promote a product, that you tested and that is REALLY good, because otherwise people will not buy from you again, once you sold trash.

Make a wise decision and inform yourself about the product first, and see how it worked out for you and other people.
