Does anyone have a good alternative to membergate?

Membergate is a bit pricey and i'm not sure about blog plug ins.

I would like soom good functionality where I can add plenty of content.

Any thoughts gratefully received

Cheers
Steve

There are many alternatives, you might want to check these 2 out:

    CustomerHub

    SubHub

Digital Access Pass (DAP) is what you're looking for.

It is a WordPress plug-in that will turn WordPress into a fully featured membership site.

It does pretty much everything that member gate does and much more.

Everything from protecting your content, dripping your content out over time, integrating Vbulletin, one click upsell's and much much more.

I am just a very happy customer and an avid supporter of their product.

      Talk soon,

er... gets a little dicey when u get this upon clicking on PRICING:

      Pricing

Signing up for a SubHub package is quick and simple. In fact, you can be up and running in a couple of minutes.

Above 2 lines were all that appeared on the subhub.com page called PRICING.

I am currently using Digital Access Point. It was quite a good recommendation from Warriors here. I am using the older version though, and I understand they have launched the new version...

The best part about DAP is their affiliate program. Therefore, you don't have to rely on Clickbank or Payspree for affiliates. And those who join your sites are automatically an affiliate.

    I highly recommend DAP....

I second (third?) the recommendation for DAP. It's solid product, has good documentation and fantastic support.

  • I use Amember for all my membership sites. There's a bit of a learning curve but once you have everything setup it works like a charm.

yes i can second that. Amember and forums, are the best really.

most of my sites are like that.

But I can say if you are starting out you will want to test things, and outsource if you can. I use to spend hours of my time trying to install scripts, that i didnt know how to install. There are experts for that if you are not tech savy. They will help you out and install scripts within an hour or so.

That gives you more time to drive traffic to your site and work on your busines not in it.

Ok thanks for all the advice folks, I will take a tour through the various options mentioned. In terms of building content for my site, it will probably take me the best part of 2-3 months to get it all together so I am happy with it.
What would people recommend the best way to do this?
Build the content piecemeal and then have it all ready to upload to a member site?

Celente, amen to that I would sooner pay someone when I'm ready to launch and get all the glitches ironed out.

    Thanks all for your advice
