selling e-books thru clickbank

I just listened to a webinar where the presenters claim they have lots of sites that are on auto pilot selling info e-books typically making them at least $500/mo. each.

HAS ANYONE MADE MONEY WITH THE FOLLOWING STRATEGY?

pick niche (find a successful "dummies" book on amazon)
pick keywords with enough search volume but not too much competition
send dummies table of contents to a researcher to compile info
send info to writer to write e-book
build site with related articles and submit offsite articles for seo
add optin on site offering free report
autorespond w/info & sales letter to sell e-book
sit back and watch the dough roll in

It sounds like a great strategy but the one question that comes to my mind is: how easy is it to pick a niche that gets enough search volume but is not extremely competitive?

HAS ANYONE EVER DONE THIS AND MADE MONEY? If so, would you mind sharing your experience?

Thanks.

you can research a bit. For example look over the bestsellers. then use a keyword tool and pick the winning keywords related to that niche This is actually a good idea. creating the ebook is not the hard part, imo it's building the salespage

it's definitely a viable strategy. i definitely wouldn't shoot it down without trying it.

Yeah, these methods work. Your sales are going to depend almost entirely on your sales letter, autoresponders, and copy in general with this method. Make sure you hire someone that knows what they're doing - don't pay a fraction for sub-par dribble that wouldn't convert a cancer patient into buying a well-known cure (no, that's not an extreme example).

Bah, I read this as Massively Multiplay Online niche first. Regardless, the Make Money Online niche is still possible to get into - if you have something unique. Also, if you insist on such a foolish ploy, the WSO section is a great place to start out - not to mention the ability to post articles in the articles section.
