How to start earning money TODAY? Try this.. (updated 12/9/2010)

UPDATED 12/9/10: I just updated this thread with some new info.

Hi guys, what's up?

Just wanted to share with you what I think is the easiest way to earn money online and anybody can do it starting right now.

It's not a method that will get you rich, but it's going to get you started and making you money. Also you can expand and scale this idea.

This is perfect for people that need money right away but don't have time, money, knowledge and/or experience to start anything else.

The whole idea is to ask people to ask you any question they want on a certain topic and you answer them for free, but cleverly include your affiliate link.

There are two ways of doing this. Maybe more, but these ones I have used personally.

Let me give you examples of how I did this first, and then I'll explain you step-by-step what exactly you need to do.

EXAMPLE #1: your expertise + forums

My expertise is IM (obviously lol) and I participate in many discussions here on WF.

I had no WSO or any IM related product to sell, so in my signature I simply put something like:

"Feel free to send me an email and ask anything you want about IM. Or just send me a funny YouTube video at..."

Then I made some useful posts, helped people out, gave advice, ie. I just did what most of us here on WF do.

But over time some 20-ish Warriors contacted me with their problem and asked me for advice.

I then provided them with as detailed advice/solution as possible. It took me on average about 20min for each email.

But then in the end, I suggested them they should buy an ebook, course, software that would even more help them with their problem.

But the key part was that I openly offered them to buy through my affiliate link if they wanted, but if they didn't want that, I also gave them a normal link where I didn't get any commission.

One guy said about this "Wow, a classy move dude!"
Since I gave them a lot of free value, more than 60% bought through my affiliate link and were more than glad to.

With this I made around $550 which is not bad at all since I just put this in my sig "for fun", because I didn't know what else to put.

It didn't take much of my time, I did that during my "no-work" time. Instead of watching an episode of South Park I devoted 20mins to write a good advice.
How to do this yourself?
I love step-by-step, so here you go:
  • Find or pick your expertise.
    • This is just like picking out a niche to write an info product about
    • If you have skills and knowledge in something, like I have in IM, go with that first.
    • If you don't have the skills in anything in perticular, than pick something that you are/could be passionate about
i. Pick a topic that won't be a problem for you to learn more about, something that interests you.
ii. Also, make sure that the topic is in-demand. If you're totally into "how to grow a beard if you're a woman" niche, then I advise you move to something else.
iii. If you're totally clueless about picking out a niche, then go to Amazon.com, Dummies.com, ClickBank.com, Ebay Pulse and search for best-selling books, high gravity ebooks, in-demand products, etc. See what's selling the most and pick a niche you like the most.
iv. You can also find some good WSOs where Warrior sell good niche ideas.
  • Find forums around that topic, niche
    • Google "main keyword + forum"
    • Register on one or more.
    • Create your profile.
    • In your signature put the following:
i. "If you'd like me to help you with _____, just send me an email to ______________ and I'll gladly help you personally. Or just send me a funny YouTube video and make my day! "
ii. Try something else if you want, but make sure that your signature appears sincere, that you will really help them with personal advices.
  • Find people that need help about something
    • Firstly, establish yourself in that community as an expert and as a cool dude/dudette
i. People will post their questions and ask other members to help them. Find those threads by surfing the forum.
ii. Once you find these kind of topics, posts, read their question, concern, problem, carefully.
iii. If you're an expert in that field, you'll immediately know how to help them. Solve their problem publicly by posting to their thread.
iv. If you're not an expert, start searching the forum and Google for solutions to their problem.
v. Learn about the solution and then simply rewrite it and post it to the thread.
vi. Make at least 3-4 posts like these.
vii. Next, make a few posts where you just appreciate another member. Just say how you agree with them and how they really helped everyone. This gives you a lot of points and this way you leave a good first impression on everyone. Just don't go overboard and appear as a butt licker.
    • Send emails or PMs to members in need
i. Find other members who post their questions and problems.
ii. Help them a bit in the post, but send your advice as a PM or email.
    • Receive emails from other members.
i. As you post around the forum, acting like Mother Theresa of that community , other members will find you and want to ask you questions.
  • Reply them with advices that solve their perticular problem entirely.
    • Understand the problem by googling it.
    • Find out how to help them by reading blogs, free reports, other forums, etc.
    • Then write a decent solution, make sure you write in a step-by-step manner, etc.
    • After that insert your affiliate link like this:
i. "Although this will be enough for you to get you going, I have to recommend you a book/course/report/software/anything that will help you even more and achieve what you want. It's the best way to *insert main beneift 1* and *insert main benefit 2*. And it's only $$$ which is really a no-brainer."
ii. If you're in a niche where everybody knows what affiliate marketing is, like in IM niche, then offer them the affiliate offer as I did on WF - give them an option to buy through your link and through a regular link.
iii. When picking out affiliate offers, make sure you offer them something in the low price range because you want them to impulse buy what you offered them.
iv. Thank them and let them know that they can coun't on you if they run into problems again.
v. Click send, go to your bathroom and high-five your reflection on your mirror - congrats, you just helped someone with their problem and hopefully they'll buy your affiliate offer.
  • Rinse and repeat + expand this with your own ideas!
    • There's tons of ideas you can add to this, for example, add an ethical bribe to anyone that contacts you in a form of a PLR ebook you bought. This will certainly increase the number of people that will contact you.

EXAMPLE #2: your expertise + surveys + facebook

Ok, here's another thing I did which made me some good money with ease.
A little warning before I get into this - I used Facebook ads to drive traffic. If you don't have money to spend, then you should try driving traffic some other way. In the end, I'll mention some free traffic generation techniques you could use.

Ok, let's go.

I decided I should try promoting a FarmVille guide to FarmVille players on Facebook. At the time, that guide was really hot on ClickBank and wanted to try to jump on that FarmVille craze.

There are a lot of FarmVille players around the world, they are playing it on Facebook, so it made sense to advertise it on Facebook.

But since ad costs are a bit high and the commission I get is not too high, I knew I had to get a very good CTR and CR to make it worthwhile for me.
I decided to apply a similar technique as in the first example.

Here's what I did:

I set up a simple one essey question survey on surveygizmo.com asking people to ask me anything they want me to help them with FarmVille.

Here's the link to that survey: What's your biggest question about Farmville?

On the next page they were asked for their email address.

I then set up a Facebook ad campaign targeting people that are playing FarmVille. Made a lot of ad variations to find the one with highest CTR and that was it.

Here is a screenshot of one of the best converting ad variation.

My CTR was 0,265% after more than 850,000 impressions and my CPC was as low as $0,05 which was 4-5 times lower than the suggested CPC.

Obviously I hit the nail with this method since this kind of CTR on FB is really above average.

*USEFUL FB ADVERTISING TIP: Start with bidding low on CPC, once you know which ads have the highest CTR, switch to paying per impression for those ads à your CPC will drop 4-5% with the same traffic volume.

*another one: if you want to learn more about how to create high-converting facebook ads and pay cents per click, then check out my other thread (free and no need to opt-in): http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...templates.html

The success rate of people filling out the form was more than 30%. I think I got less than 700 people asking me questions during a 3 month period.
Oh, I forgot to tell you that I had never ever played FarmVille in my life and I didn't know a thing about it.

What I did is I bought the guide and I had a little friend to help me become a FarmVille expert called Mr. Google.

For each FarmVille question I got it took me around 10mins to find an answer and another 10mins to write the solution down.

At the end I simply added my affiliate link to the guide and honestly recommended it to them.

Out of those 700 people, around 85 of them bought the guide making me something like $1600.

I have spent around $150 on advertising which is nothing compared to the revenue.

And if you calculate how much money I made for each hour of my time invested, I was making a little bit more than $11 an hour, something like that.

Not bad for a simple project that I invested around 1hour a day.

I then stopped doing that because I was actually loosing money with this once I was making more money on other projects, my time was better spent somewhere else.

How to do this yourself?
You can do this for any niche you can imagine. Just like in the first example.

It's even better if you're an expert in a certain field because it will take you less time to write an answer.

But you don't need to be one, you only need to be a good researcher and find information quickly.

If you want to do this, then pick a niche and a product to promote, set up a similar survey on surveygizmo, create ads on FB and that's it.

If you don't have the money to invest or you're not skilled at FB advertising, then you can try the following traffic generation technique:

  • Set up a facebook page with a title like: "I solve your FarmVille problems!" or "Let me answer your toughest FarmVille question!"
  • Populate your page with the links to your survey.
    • Also, go to fiverr.com and find someone to create a landing page for you for $5
    • The landing page should have a small intro text where you explain how will you help them and what they need to do.
    • Then set that landing page as a default page of your fb page so that people coming to it always see it first (and not your wall)
  • Go to fiverr.com and find people with a lot of friends that will like your page and invite all of their friends for $5
    • Just go to fiverr.com, click on sort by ratings and you'll find at least 5 people on the first 10 pages of results.
    • Pay them those $5. So if you get 5 people to do that, you'll pay $25 - trust me, it's more than worth it.
  • Watch your fan count increase, and more importantly the questions you start getting.
  • Also to spurr some viral effects when you send them your advice/solution, tell them you will send them a free ebook on that subject if they go back to your FB page and LIKE it.
  • Rinse and repeat + come up with your own ideas
    • Find other ways to promote your page, etc.

Updated:

I just wanted to update you guys with some extra tips that can help you with this strategy.

First, you don't need to offer an affiliate program in your replies. You can also tell them to opt-in to your list and give them a link to your optin page. Just say something like "I have a website as well where I send people more free advices like the one I just gave you. If you want to get it as well, just follow this link and enter your email address, that's it. LINK"

You can also write about what they will get, etc. Just soft-sell them your list.

Second, beware that some forums are more strict than others! Some of you had problems with this because some forum mods are less tolerant to any promotion in your sigs. The best thing to do is to send a PM to the mod explaining what are your intentions, etc. That should keep you off trouble.

And lastly, check out my other threads about Facebook if you want to use it in more details with this strategy.

***********************************
Few, this was looooong hehe.

Hope you liked this and that you will put it to action.

I wish you guys all the best and take care!

No, I just stated my email address like this: ddebrecin[at]gmail.com in my sig file.

This is really smart and nice tips.Thank buddy!!!

In the Im niche ,do you like to suggest any other forum to use your technique?
      Thanks!

Yeah, there's digitalpoint, but I recommend you stay here. WF is by far the best and this is not a technique that people will go and say "oh, he's using that technique where he genuinely helps me and then promotes an affiliate link, but I don't have to.."

So don't be worried if you think people here would frown upon this.

One more tip: If you want people to notice you in forums and pay attention to you - make replies to their posts and make sure you mention their name or username! There's not a single word in the world people love more than their own name.

Hi Andrea, glad you like it!

My advice is that you choose among the following niches / products on ClickBank:

      - gaming guides (like FarmVille); highest converting guides are from TDub (FarmVille, Magic of Making Up, etc.)
      - "controversial" products; for example products related to 2012

Just think of niches where people can have specific questions so you can give them specific answers.

Also, check out CB-analytics.com for in-depth analysis of each ClickBank products.

Take care and let me know if you have any questions.

Absolutely - whether people choose to offer the help in order to get the questions or to research ongonig discussions or blog comments to see how others are helping them, the important thing is that you see where the demand is coming from and begin to build a collection of usable information that people can apply to their lives.

With your model, you could definitely extend this to...

      1. Either narrate (and translate speech to text) or simply write out the responses to each question and package those into a free report that you give out in exchange for opt-in information

      2. Then as your list grows, you run weekly or bi-weekly teleseminar q&a sessions where you get to further answer questions and coach people - recording those sessions to give away or sell

      3. Offer some of these coaching sessions as further incentive to join your list and grow it even faster

      4. Offer premium services and/or affiliate products that can really ramp up income, all the while providing top quality help to your customers.

This model works extraodinarily well...best of all, it is a very natural way to generate in-demand info products without sitting down and forcing yourself to write a book

You method made me smile a little bit, okay a lot, lol. The other day I saw someone on the forum asking for help and sent them a PM because I happened to have a video on the issue he was asking for help with - I just needed his email address to send it to him - and then wondered why he replied "I haven't got any money" I was genuinely trying to help out - he must have thought I was selling him something - is it possible some of us get a little too cynical??

Anyway great post and actually a way I could make some money from some of the things i do help out with for free - so long as you are upfront about it, then I think people will respond in kind.

Thanks for the share Davor (yes I read the whole thread, lol again)

Wow, now I know why I love this forum. I haven't been here in a few weeks, and when I return there are posts like this!

It seems there are some simple truths to this post that are universal....

    1) provide value BEFORE you try to sell something to someone;
    2) Let the market tell you what it wants, before you sell them anything;
    3) Provide good, solid information to people even if they never buy anything from you;
    4) Be honest and ethical and people will reciprocate (i.e. you'll get something in return)
    5) Choose a niche or market that is a proven winner
    6) Test, test, test.

There are probably more, but I'm pretty tired. Thanks for a great post!

    WOW!

Guys, thank you for your kind replies, I'm glad you liked this!

Actually, you all inspired me to make a crazy decision!

You made me realize how much I love sharing my IM knowledge and experience.

The only thing that's been holding me back all these years was that I thought I NEED to make a product and SELL it. I just didn't have the will and time to do that, I was totally devoted to my other projects. And I didn't want to make a sloppy WSO just to make a few bucks.

But you have now inspired me to realize that I DON'T need to SELL my own product and go through all the hassle.

In stead, I will be sharing my knowledge and experience for free here on the WF! Every now and then I will make a post like this one and give it to you guys.

I have already made a new one about how to create awesome Facebook images for your ads that grab attention and lower your costs, click here: http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...ml#post2924153

Check it out and then PM me if you want to join, I'd be more than happy to have you guys on board!

      Adrainne, thank you!

I think that sometimes people get caught with all of the products and people they are making money on "auto-pilot". Of course, there are ways to make money on auto-pilot and that's awesome. But without putting some hard work, especially when you're just starting out - you are going against the odds.

      Again, thanks!

Hi guys, thanks for your replies!

Actually that's exactly what I said in my original post. Actually - that's the KEY to the whole thing.

You need to provide them a lot of value, ie. a complete solution to their problem and then advise them to buy a product that covers other areas.

The method can be broken down into the following:

        1. Provide good value upfront to get noticed.
        2. Encourage people to send you their questions and problems.
        3. Answer their questions and solve their problems.
        4. Ask them to take an action - subscribe to your email list, buy a product etc.

        Take care everybody!

Thanks so much, this post has really inspired me.

I have set up a site on anxiety, and already take part in forums for backlinks etc, but I would never have thought of this approach.

It sounds perfect for me to expand on, as I am a qualified therapist, so should be able to offer some help.

Thank you once again for inspiring a newbie (made no money yet!), and helping me to see a way forward.

I've been working on forums this afternoon, and the link to email has just got me banned from one!

I recieved a message saying is this spam?

I answered asking to clarify as it was my email address

And the lovely lady in question banned me, no reply, no email, just no access!

Maybe need to alter the email adress so it's not @defeatpanic.com, make it more like a personel email address.

          Ouch merlin!

I'm really surprised to hear that.

Some forums are more strict than others.

Can you send me your entire signature copy.

Also make sure you're not being to aggressive in your posts. Make sure that you provide massive value.

The idea is to get people to see you as an expert so they decide to contact you without you needing to "force" them in your post.

Send me the URL of the forum and I'll do my best to find a solution that will work for you. It's all in little but significant changes.

          Thank you and take care!

Thanks for your help Davor, I can't PM you "not enough posts yet"

I had spent sometime building a body of posts, some thanks, some on the general chat and then on the panic attacks forum itself offering what I felt was genuine help. Maybe, I need to expand the length of reply, as I tend to be quite brief and bullet point.

            Thanks for any advice.

Hey Merlin, no problem, glad I could help.

You have a good strategy, but unfortunately you never know what the out-of-your-control factors are.

Just keep trying and I know it will be a success for you.

My advice is to also try the Facebook method. In my Facebook post (link in my signature) I give you additional useful info for Facebook marketing, so check it out as well.

Anna, if you're fairly new to that forum you might want to spend more time on there and try to establish relationships with and get to know the prominent members better. Also, it'd be a good idea to make your posts longer (with lots of constructive advice) so people can see that you're actually pretty knowledgeable on the topic, as this would then encourage them to email you seeking more help.

Yeah! These are the simple kinds of ideas I like to see and use. It seems like the dumber I keep things, the better they tend to work. Your forum idea is right up my alley.

I already answer a lot of questions each day from some Youtube videos I have up. So that's another twist on this idea. Just put it out there on your Youtube videos that you help out anyone if they want to contact you. Then give em the goods with a hint of persuassion. :-)

    Thanks twentyone!

You just gave here one of the BEST advices you can give to all other warriors who are struggling to make their first sale. I bolded it out.

This is most important - stick to what you're already doing before trying something else! When I started out I was trying out making money by direct linking Google ads to affiliate offers. It was called the Google Cash method. Back then it was very popular.

I started with a couple of offers and tried and tested different ads. After a certain while I made 3 sales with one product and the conversion rate was just high enough to cover all of my PPC costs.

So I decided I should drop this product because I didn't earn a profit. This discouraged me and I moved on to some other business models.

Two or so years later I was talking to another online marketer and somehow we got talking about the Google Cash. I immediately told him how I didn't achieve much success and how I abandoned it.

He then told me something that taught me one of the most important lessons on online marketing and business in general.

He told me that he made more than $40k promoting that SAME product targeting the SAME keywords I was targeting! And he started with google cash three months after me!

The only difference between me and him was that he sticked to it. He tested and tweaked it until he was in the black. A lot in the black.

So the lesson is, as twentyone says - always stick with what you started! Do your best to make it work. Don't go and buy a new WSO every week. If you can make ONE sale, you can make a THOUSAND sales.

Thanks for reminding me of this twentyone!

Take care guys and have an awesome Sunday!

    ~Davor

PS: A lot of people are asking me about where they can join my list - I can't post the link here, but you can find it in my free WSO about Facebook images (the link is in my signature). The link is at the bottom and it's entitled "Pick My Brain".

      Hi Davor,

Just joined your email list so only just seen this thread! Usually I only go to the WSO section where I buy far too many offers because I just can't decide which way to go.

I found this post very illuminating, but I think the main reason people don't stick with any one method is the worry that they will spend months doing something only to find it doesn't really work and they've wasted all that time.

I've just become interested in Facebook and have been following one method for a few weeks that I find really enjoyable (and comparatively easy) that I bought in the WSO section, but the people running it are suddenly uncontactable and I've seen 'proof' that this method is a scam (ie. the sellers results were manipulated), so now very unsure whether to continue with it.

How does one decide whether to stick with something or to give it up as a bad lot?

Very much enjoyed your main post though and look forward to getting more info from being on your list. I promise I'll buy through your affiliate link if I do buy anything you recommend!! (what is it about people who get good information from you, but then refuse to use an affiliate link - it's not as if they have to pay more for doing so!).

      Regards,
      Rachel

        Hello
I joined this forum to communicate with others and find out the latest happenings on variety of subjects. I am fairly successful Network Marketer from Ontario, Canada and have been doing business online for many years now. I operate one type of Internet business in form of a financial club that earns me a growing monthly income but pays me and others on a daily basis. Besides operating my Internet financial club and sitting in front of a computer, I enjoy many sports, outdoor adventures, traveling, gardening, social gatherings and new things to try. I am hoping to discover new interesting topics in this forum and make lots of new contacts!

Thank you very much for your reply!

Taking the first step is the hardest. And staying on track is the next hardest thing to do.

I don't remember the exact story, but it goes something like this:

There was one professional bicyclist who won Tour the France who said that the key to his success was the following - each 3rd peddle rotation he would stop peddling for a split sec to rest his legs just a bit. So he would go 1-2-3-stop-1-2-3-stop.

This proved to be a major difference in his performance and thus he won the race.

What does this mean to us?

By doing small steps repeatedly and constantly you can achieve extraordinary results!

Post only 3 posts per day that takes 10min of your time, each and every day. By the end of the year you'll have more than a thousand post count and become one of the key people in your forum.

Help out only 3 new people every day - after a year you'll have a group of thousand, not subscribers, but RAGING FANS!

Thanks again, Gorilla - cool name BTW.
