Don't Approach SEO The Same Way As You Do PPC

SEO and PPC are different animals.

With PPC you have to scientific and precise.

With SEO you can play "JAZZ".

An example being when doing keyword research for an article, or for buying a keyword domain for an SEO project, why are people obsessed with the exact match figures?

You should look at the broad match figures aswell. Because in SEO you can and most likely WILL appear for all the related and longtail terms for he particular phrase.

Don't be put off if you think you've found a great keyword but it only gets 185 searches a month on exact match... oh but look it gets 16,000 on broad match.

Just think "CONTENT + LINKS - the more words I go for and the more links I put into each of my pages the more traffic I get"

Why not write articles around keywords that get 10 searches a month...?

The chances are those articles will appear in the SERPS for a lot more than just that one phrase you based the article on... and you'll be getting something like 100 a month.

It's not costing you anything PER click. It's a fixed cost to put up that content. So take advantage of it.

This post was inspired by a bit of a disagreement I've been having this week with a partner of mine on a certain project Hope the above makes sense and it shines some light on the vast potential SEO has.
