How to make Video with white Background?

I see alot of people are now making videos where it is them talking and the background is white like they removed everything from the video except the person talking. How do you do this?

Well, they could either tape themselves in front of a white wall or white background.

Or they could tape themselves in front of a green or blue screen then use the chromakey tool in their video editing software to replace the background with a white one (or anything else they desire).

Google "green screen" or "chroma key". Those are processes whereby you remove the background and just leave the foreground image.

Pretty straight forward if you have the equipment and software.

Starting with a bluescreen to make a white background seems a bit wasteful. Why not start with a white muslin and some good lighting?

True Brian, that should work. If your shadows are driving you nuts then using a green screen can rectify that. My response was as much about doing a little research if that particular question needs to be asked. It never hurts to go one step farther with your knowledge then you think you may need. That's why I advocated Googling those terms.

Just ask one of your photographer friends if you can borrow their studio for an hour. Most have the white background you'll need.

I like to use an over exposed white background as opposed to a green screen, but they both work.
