promoting Amazon products

Hi guys!

just a quick question to those of you that have promoted amazon products with success. Do you seo for one focused keyword or do you try to have 2-3 relevant keywords for your site?

For instance say you found a good keyword for power tools. that is a keyword that is highly focused with product name incorporated into it. Do you do a page on only that tool and possible accessories for that one keyword or do you try to find 2 good relevant keywords to go with?

Also would you rather do a review page on 3-6 different power tools to go with or just focus on this one product, try to get the person into Amazon where they offer similar products and hope he makes a choice within 24 hrs? (I know hoping isn't optimal). Maybe it is best for the reader to read many reviews on your site and enter amazon with a good idea of what to buy?

    I focus on one main keyword as a starting point.

    If you fill your site with unique, relevant contend you'll find your site naturally ranking for other longer tailed keywords.

    Without giving my website niche away I'll give an example of what I see in my Google analytics account but replace the keyword with the example below.

    Lets say my site is focused on the keyword “cooker”

    My site is optimised to rank for this keyword but it's naturally ranking for other keywords from the content on my site.

    Most of my traffic is coming from the keyword “cooker” but I'm also ranking well for...

    Best cooker
    Cooker reviews
    Best cooker review
    which cooker is the best

    Now these are just a hand full of keywords I'm ranking for but I did not optimise my site to rank for these keywords. It just comes naturally if you fill your site with lots of good content.

    In fact I have only optimised my site to rank for one main keyword but I'm ranking for 95 other related keywords that I did not optimise for.

    If you look at my Google Analyitics screen shot you can see I'm getting traffic from 95 keywords but I only optimised for one

    My site is less that 4 weeks old & it's sitting at the top of page two of Google for its main keyword.

    My site has almost hit page one in less than a month & this is all from only one page too.

    I was told a great tip about getting more traffic to my site through the search engines - "add more content to get more traffic"

    And concerning the article, do you only have 1 page article with "cooker" or couple pages with articles having "cooker" also ?

      I just used "cooker" as example, my keyword is different.

      I have one main page of content on the home page that targets the main keyword. It's around 1200 word long.

      The other pages on my site are just contact, about, privacy & two other pages of content.

      One is a product list which is duplicate content.

      The other page is for my blog post. I have just added two small post to my blog a couple of days ago so they're probably not indexed yet.

      I'm gradualy adding content to gain more traffic & build my site up.

    I use Amazon by outsourcing the creation of websites. That said, if you are just starting out you should build them yourself first.

    Here's a blog post I put up that discusses how I'm making use of proven strategies such as the Super Deadbeat Affiliate system (one of several things you could use)

      Is that the affiliate system that Dan brock created?

    Yup - it's Dan's course. It is so frikkin' cheap at $37 (or $27 if you exit the page twice), why would you NOT get it?

    I mean even if you use your own affiliate link to buy it, it's brain-dead cheap and it's pretty good.
