Have You Ever Bought A Television Or Radio Spot? How Was Your Experience? Would You Do It Again?

I'm looking into experimenting with different services and forms of broadcast advertising.

Have you ever bought a television or radio spot? If so, how was your experience? Do you have any tips, recommendations, or suggestions?

How did you go about buying that spot? Did you use an online service such as SpotRunner or Google to do it?

    For my offline business years ago I did radio . I advertised on a local station, during a popular show.

    The radio station had a sales rep I talked to. We worked up advertisements together, sometimes I wrote something up, most of the time she did.

    If anything it did some branding, but did not increase customers.

    I did not feel that it did much at all. Hope you get some positive answers on this.

    DRTV and Radio is not unlike PPC in the sense that those who do it best, have the right mental conditioning for it.

    You need to have a large enough budget to allow for repetitions and momentum to build. In other words, you need cash and patience... as well as a great offer as an overriding prerequisite.

    You should also have a good call center and a strong direct mail package (please don't rely on viewers or listeners going to your URL, you'll likely be very disappointed).

    I've met the folks at Spotrunner before at trade shows and they are nice people but I've never done any business with them before. I've done lots of business with Google before but never met any people. Get my drift?

    I can wholeheartedly recommend my friend Ron Perlstein at InfoWorx as a full-service agency. I learned an awful lot about DRTV working with Ron over the years.
