My article marketing strategy: Thanks for The Input

After reviewing the plethora of wonderful responses to my quiries and after reviewing some of the wonderful all in one posts I am pleased to reveal the "content" marketing strategy I have designed .

It is because of this wonderful forum that I was able to piece this all together

tx again

So, here goes

Again my intent is to enter many niches, but for each niche this is what I will do!

1. I will build a blog. I am going to optimize the blog to my main keyword in the niche as well as a number of lsi keywords related to my main.

2. I am endeavoring to find 15 to 20 kws

3. I am going to write 2 unique articles per night and post them to my main niche blog, Submitt them to rss feeds and Ping the blog, and bookmark the posts to the top bookmarking sights.

POST INDEXING

4. I am going to post a slightly revised copy of my article to ezine articles and wait till it is accepted

POST EZINE ACCEPTING

5. I am going to take the ezine article and upload it to scribed and docstoc

6. I am also going to post the same contextual article to the other " top directories"

7. Using a service to spin my article and submitt them to the other directories for back links

8. Book mark my ezine articles

That is my goal, everynight to write two uniqes onto my blog, check for indexing of the other articles and post them to ezine. Check ezine for ariticles approved and start distributing variations of my content.

Provided, i do my homework and I find good niches with good kws, do you think this strategy is good?

Any suggestions?

Careful, docstoc seems to like original content, only. Otherwise, they'll delete your document if they can find it elsewhere on the web, without asking you if it's yours or not.

Post it to docstoc first, and then to ezine. Ezinearticles won't care as long as you can prove it's yours.

And Scribd, heard it's hard with them these days and hard to include links. Try if you will, but that's what I've heard.

I have never once had that problem. I don't think that is correct. I have always placed my articles (without respinning) onto my blogs and then onto Ezine Articles and other places.

I am sorry but i must disagree with your statement. I have many articles on Docstoc and the same articles are all over the web on numerous directories.

I like it, But (don't you love that word) here is what I suggest:

    1. I will build a blog. I am going to optimize the blog to my main keyword in the niche as well as a number of keywords related to my main.

    2. I am endeavoring to find 8 to 12 kws per niche, (makes your site more focused for that specific targeted niche, you will find the search engines will eventually fill the holes for you based off of you content on their own)

    3. I am going to write 2 unique articles per night until you have 12 articles, one keyword optimized for each of your 12 target keywords that you have chosen. Title them as such MAIN KEYWORD - KEYWORD you optimized for (i.e Internet Marketing - How to use Video Marketing as an Internet Marketing Strategy) Internet Marketing is my main keyword, Video Marketing and Internet Marketing Strategy are two of my others.

    4. I am going to post the EXACT article to ezine articles and wait till it is accepted, Save you the COPYSCAPE issue you will get from Ezine if you already have them on your site.

    5. Post the 12 Articles on your site.

    6. Use the ping services to ping your articles. THEN create a feedburner account, input your feed, then ping that feedburner feed at all the ping services.

    5. I am going to take the ezine article and upload it to scribed and docstoc (also consider posting your articles to create Squiddo, Wordpress.com and a couple other HIGH RANKING free sites, more backlinks and perhaps some natural traffic to your site)

    6. I am also going to post the same contextual article to the other " top directories" (only post your EXACT article to the high PR article sites, there are only ten or so of any real value anyway.)

    7. Using a service to spin my article and submitt them to the other directories for back links (don't waste your time with this, get a better benefit just staying with the high PR directories)

    8. Book mark my ezine articles

As an add on remember, create your 12 articles and put them into ezine, then link back to the article you posted on your site, that article on your site will link back to you money page. DON'T link to your money page in you ezine resource block.

What I did is created (actually had a writer do it) 12 1500 word articles for posting on my site. Condenced them a bit for ezine and submitted all twelve there, then in the resource block let the article flow into it with a transition like "Learn more about XYZ by reading the full article at"

And I know what your thinking when I say EXACT article. Duplicate content, am I right? Well since you are only posting on the HIGH PR Directories, and Social Netorking/Bookmarking site and not 100's of garbage article directories that may or may not even list your article, don't worry about it, I don't.

    Hi cpalounger,

yes, that's a great method, but factor in how much time you're going to spent vs you're going to make. I'd say you would make more money outsourcing repetitive things then focus on your strengths like product creation and marketing etc.

I completly agree, but also think that you need to know how to do it yourself before you go into outsourcing. That way you know if the work you are getting is quality or garbage.

What I want to do is get things rolling in each niche, set the tone for the writing style, then hire someone to keep it rolling so I can move on to the next niche

        Hi Clint

Yes, I also agree with what you're saying, I too am a techie junkie and wanted to know first before I started outsourcing, but for me it was a job before because I'm the linkbuilder before I become an overall SEO person, and indeed you need to know first before you outsource.

But now, even I'm a linkbuilder before I utilize and reinvest my earnings to let other people do it. I think it was the reason I was able to earn more while doing less. Hope this clears up and helps.

        Regards,
        Enzo

So, I should in fact post to ezine first, but my goal is to build links to my post on my blog .....correct

What I mean, The post is more important in the long run, I am using eza to get another source of content and a high quality back link and some direct views.

I believe that you may be on to something! I am doing something similar but on a bit bigger scale.
Might I ask how you intend to monetize all of your traffic?

Also, I would suggest that you place a static email opt-in form on your blog so that people that visit can join your list. Write a good report that revolves around your niche and give it away to subscribers. Make sure that you provide LOTS of value in your report as well as all of the emails that you send to your list.
Focus on treating people BETTER then you'd like to be treated and I can guarantee that you will see some sweet results.

Front end monetization: posts on my site will link to my products ( cb products )

    CPA banner Perhaps on site

Back End : Build list, market new and bigger things in the niche as I build trust etc and garner leverage

Yes, if you post on your blog first you run the risk of Ezine calling it duplicate content via their system. Also their editors will find in on your webpage when they check your backlinks and not approve it. They are giving you the backlink, the link juice, and possibly free traffic to your site, so pay them the respect of letting them have the content first. Can do nothing but benefit you in the end.

I would go the other way with this if your using your site to sell clickbank stuff. Build your email list with your site, have your home page be your list building page. Then, depending on then email them about your CB products. This will allow you a dependable focused list on the products you promote, and if you decide to develop your own later on down the road you already have a good reputation and client base.

    Hi
I am quite new to the whole Internet marketing and SEO thing and I would really love to make marketing online a full-time job. But I am honestly so overwhelmed right now. I have read that article marketing is the best way to market my websites, but how exactly do I go about doing this?

Unless Ezine demands they get priority posting of your article first, you want that article on your blog first.

Otherwise, Ezine can very likely get higher SERP rankings than you blog will pull. Use it yourself and then give it to them...but let a bit of time lapse so you can do some backlinking to it and get it ranked.

ezine vs your own site I just spent an hour going over this amazing thread, and it really helps work out the copyscape issues.

I have to say, my opinion is to go on my site first.

Your plan sounds good. This is what I am doing currently and it is working for me. The key is to stay motivated and keep pumping out articles daily. Try to start with one a day or more if you don't get burned out. Eventually you will be able to pump out 5 to 10 articles in a short time. Once you get the hang of it you just rinse and repeat for another niche.

It's certainly better than what many people do.

There are a couple of little things I'd suggest you think about slightly altering:-

Spinning may have some benefits, for some people, but there's no conceivable, possible backlink benefit. If you're doing this for backlinks, there's absolutely no point in bothering to spin them. A syndicated article in Google's supplemental index and a totally spun "100% original" article in Google's main index both get exactly the same backlink. Of course, one may get traffic, too, where the other can't, and so on - but that's a completely different point. If you're doing this for backlinks, don't spin. There's no harm in it, but not bothering will certainly save you a lot of time and effort, and that's time and effort with which you can be writing a new article for your own site instead!

Originally Posted by cpalounger View Post

A mistake here, to be blunt. Not so good to build links to other people's sites (though I'm sure EZA would be delighted with the idea!). Build them to your own site.

Don't let EZA, in the long term, outrank your own site for your own keywords.

Tempting, I know - because there's a short-term traffic benefit to doing this. But in the long run, it can damage your own site's (and therefore your business's) SEO and prospects. A slight re-think needed, on this point. You might decide it's much better, in the long term, to do the bookmarking just for your sites, not for anyone else's. It's exactly the same principle as the one explained in this post.

    Good luck!

You know, I was thinking about this, and I'm not entirely sure that's true.

If you write an article, you can submit to each of the directories, hypothetically, just the once. So you write one article, send it to 100 directories, get 100 backlinks.

On the other hand, if you write one article, get five reasonable variations of it, you could submit all five to 100 articles, and get 500 backlinks.

Of course, that's speculative, since I haven't tested it.

    1. Build a blog and optimize it to your keywords.

    2. Find 15 to 20 keywords irrespective of competition in your niche. Moderate competition of 1000-5000 links per site is good. More than that, you might have a tough time cracking early on.

    3. Create 15 articles(1 per keyword)(A set) exclusively for your site. Make sure that these articles presell your visitors. If you are putting an affiliate link, make sure that you add the no follow tag to the link. Doing 2 posts a day is good.

    4. Write another 15 articles(B set) and post it on your blog as well. These should be targetting the same keywords you are targetting with your main articles. Make these articles link to your site as well.

    5. Get yourself Article Marketing Robot and then submit these articles to 100s of directories using AMR. Your B set articles need to be submitted. Link to B set articles on your site as well as A site articles on your site with these articles.

    6. Go to top 20 social bookmarking sites and bookmark all your site's pages with them. (Do it slowly).

    7. Also bookmark your articles you get from the live links extract feature on AMR. Most sites do not accept EZA bookmarks.

    8. Create a blog on 10 sites powered by Wordpress MU and post your B set articles to them with bookmarks.

    9. Submit the feeds of your blog.

    10. Get a normal site map with wordpress - Dagon Sitemap Generator plus Google XMl Sitemaps.

    11. Do a C Set with the same articles.

      4. Write another 15 articles(B set) and post it on your blog as well. These should be targetting the same keywords you are targetting with your main articles. Make these articles link to your site as well.

If your B set is in your Site, you mean set up links to your original articles for on page optimizations?

Or, do you mean build different blogs to get back links.

        Answer to your questions:

        - Post B articles and link them to your A article. Put a link in the first para itself.

        - Don't build different blogs.

Once you get this method right, you may or may not rank for some keywords.

Pick those keywords, create a subdomain that is keyword rich under this domain and target only that keyword. Do the same backlink structure using AMR.

You will rank n 60 days or less.

I agree that the goal is to get your site ranked high, but when your just starting a website its much faster to get that Ezine article you wrote ranked then it is your site. And, Its your link in the resource box, so if the purpose is getting traffic to your site (which eventually helps increase your overall SERP) then what does it matter if your Ezine article is ranked number 1 for your keyword term and your site is number 2??

Realistically, that's not quite the appropriate comparison for most people, most of the time. Most people don't get their EZA article ranked number 1. Most people don't get their own site ranked number 2.

In the long run (which is all that matters, hello?!), if they've done this with many articles, the danger is that their own site can be quite a few places lower than it would otherwise have been, and other people's sites (not other people's articles) will all have overtaken them, because of the arrested development which has resulted from their habit of sending their traffic elsewhere. This can actually make a huge difference to their long-term traffic and long-term income.

The time to start getting this right is right at the start.

That's exactly when it's most tempting to aim for fast clicks and fast traffic, of course. Thus are mistakes made, incomes reduced and business development hampered.

Thus a proportion of people who have never properly built up their own sites, but depended on article directories (and sent their own self-generated traffic there just to help them out!) end up, a year later, posting threads in the Warrior Forum under the title "Is Article Marketing Dead?". For them, it is - and all too often they have absolutely no understanding of what they did wrong, and of course we're all far too tactful to tell them.
