I recommend a sticky the famous newbie question

So many folks come here asking "What is the best strategy for a newbie?" I think that it would be very helpful for the newbies and veterans if there was a sticky post at the top of the main forum page.

We could even ask the Blue Winged IM Goddess to pop in there every so often and sprinkle the magic IM fairy dust on a few newbies so they can be rich without doing any work. I know that I am not supposed to talk about her, but it may be time to let some others succeed too.

Anybody else?

    That could work....


    If more people actually READ the stickies. The rules are stickied but look at how many have viewed them compared to the rest of the forum. And that's with multiple visits by some of us.

    Don't you think they are just going to ask the question anyway?

    There are so many general questions that are asked every couple of hours. I don't even know if the people that post those type of questions are even going to look at the top of the forum.

    Everyday you can see threads about:
    how do i make money online
    i am newb -HELP!!
    URGENT HELP NEEDED!!!
    OMG I have NO IDEA what i am doing
    what is a website?
    can i make money online

    etc.

    What should the sticky contain?

    There are probably a thousand opinions and hundreds of variations on each opinion.

    It would need someone to trawl the forum, pull all of the relevant threads together and get their work posted as a sticky.

    Then the newbie who visits the forum for the first time, probably would not read the sticky and post anyway!

    So I'm not being negative, but I don't think that the suggestion would work as a total solution.

    Just my thoughts,

    I'm done with her. Yeah, it was great the first month and we had a great time but it wasn't long before things changed. 'help me with the dishes', 'put away your dirty clothes', 'you care more about your computer than you do about me' and nag nag nag nag nag.

    Last I heard she was dating the hot new guru in town.
