Does Google penalize you for having same article on Your site + Ezine Articles???

Hi Warriors...
There seems to be a bit of confusion about this one so I will have to ask again.

I want to know if by having the same article on your site and then having the same one on an article directory like Ezine articles whether this will hinder your SEO rankings?

    They will not punish you for it, but there is no doubt that the articles will receive more value in Google terms if they are unique.

    Dublicate content punishes happend very rarely and certant circumstances have to be fulfilled

    Penalize you for it probably isn't the right word but your site will seem 'less valuable'. Duplicate content isn't a killer to your site or anything but original content will always be seen as more valuable. What I would do is post to your own sites first, build a few links to it so it gets indexed and THEN post to EzineArticles. That way Google sees your site is the originator of the article(s).
