If I Don't See My Amazon ID In Link, Am I In Trouble?

I'm an Amazon associate. I get my hoplinks from Amazon, and pull out the link to go direct to the sales page as they seem to give it to me in the form of a link off an image.

When I click the link to check it does take me to the Amazon sales page, do I need to see my associate ID somewhere in the URL that is displayed?

After months of no sales, I just clicked on a link of mine, it took me to the Amazon sales page, but I couldn't find my Amazon associate ID in the URL in window at the top of my browser.

If I am getting this wrong, can someone tell me what to do to get a simple direct hoplink to the Amazon sales page from the long code that Amazon gives me?

Cheers,
Max

When you select "text only" link in the "get link" section you'll see some HTML code.

    It looks like this...

    <a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003EEM1M4?ie=UTF8&tag=XXXXXX-21&linkCode=as2&camp=1634&creative=6738&creativeAS IN=B003EEM1M4">Samsung LE32C530 32-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p 50Hz LCD TV with Freeview</a><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.co.uk/e/ir?t=XXXXXX-21&l=as2&o=2&a=B003EEM1M4" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" />

I have replaced my affiliate ID with "XXXXXX" in this example.

If you just want the affiliate link without the HTML code, just copy the part between the quotes that's in red.

You should see your affiliate ID in the URL when you click through to Amazon.

I just checked and yes, my associate ID was in the URL. So you should look into the problem.

        Thanks, Barry and Gail!

I'll check to see the problem.

I suspect it could be notepad messing up the spacing when I save it there and re-size the notepad window and then copy back the link.

When I hover the mouse over my Amazon refferal link on my site, I could clearly see my Amazon affiliate ID at the bottom of the browser window, but the moment I click on it, it takes me to the Amazon site but the affiliate ID has disappeared.

I also copied and pasted the actual affiliate link into the browser address field, then when I press Enter, it takes me to the Amazon product site, but my affiliate ID is nowhere on the site address.

          Am I doing anything wrong?

          Please help.
