Can you add backlinks to facebook?

Hey Warriors,

I've been resisting social sites like Facebook and MySpace basically because I just don't want another thing to do. Now I'm realizing how much I'm missing out on the traffic potential here.

One queesiton though... with a PR 9, is there ways to benefit from backlinks. Can you post dofollow links on your facebook page?

Any other tips you want to share are welcome as well

Since the SE's can't see your page, what's the point?

That's what I was wondering. So the answer is no then?

It's no, if you are looking for link juice.
If you are trying to market to your friends, that's another issue.

How can you say that for sure???

Search engines can see facebook pages and applications, just not profiles. So post a link on an application page and you're fine.

I'm sure it's worth having a link on your page if you have a fair few friends.

Not so fast. Facebook lets you create pages...these are web pages that the world can see without gaining access to your profile page.

And the search engines are able to spider them.

    However...the links are nofollow.

But! You can use these pages for other purposes. You can write about your products and services. You can link to your sales page. You just can't use it for link juice.
