Comparing Affiliate Networks

Well, the planets in the universe came completely into phase today....I've got several large projects that are going into affiliate mode soon. The other thing I noticed is a thread here, earlier today that mentioned a number of different networks I'd never heard of before now.

So, a two part question campers...first, is it possible to work with more than one network simultaneously? Or do you need to really select one, at the expense of the others?

Secondly, some of the new names I saw were plimus, avangate, and paygear. I'm familiar with e-junkie, but let's throw them in the same bucket here.

The question is, what experience have you had with any of these networks? I'm not selling any IM related products, so bear that in mind. Are there many affiliates to promote the products? Good reputation? etc.

I haven't seen any threads or discussion on this topic in quite awhile, so I'm anxious to hear the feedback.

Hi there, in an effort to answer your first question, yes i promote products across a range of networks and I think that's a smart way to market -- it's always best not to have all your income in one large pie but multiple slices in the one pie. The affiliate networks i'm in pay a variety of times a month, some weekly, some fortnightly, etc and it's much easier to budget that way.

Whoops. Sorry Colleen, just a bit of extra clarification. I'm asking these questions as a potential product vendor, not as an affiliate marketer. So bear that in mind.

    It's possible.

Whether it's advisable is another matter.

Serious, professional affiliates are pretty unlikely (with some obvious, striking exceptions such as Amazon, which is a whole different ball-game) to be willing to promote products that are available in more than one place.

If this is news, it'll help you to read this thread, this thread, this thread, this thread and this thread (and those are just a few of the most recent ones on this subject).
