Hi gang,

I'm taking a poll...What the best way to optimize your WSO submissions in terms of time of the day & day of the week to maximize eyeballs and minimize competition? What are your rules of thumb?

Thanks a bunch,

Jay

I usually launch on a wednesday at around 11pm UK time.

It is really hard to tell, it is dependant on your product.

The majority of my sales used to come on a monday, but then then started dropping, I started using wednesday and they increased again.

It is a game which nobody will ever win. Launch when you feel is right, although do not launch when the USA is sleeping!

    Regards

I would think about where the majority of your customers will be from - some products are relevant to people from all around the world in which case there'll always be a time that's great for some people, but where people are asleep across the world.

There have been a lot of great threads about this in the past so I definitely recommend doing a search. In general there are no real rules - although many people avoid weekends and Tuesdays seems to be a popular day.

There will always be pros and cons to when you post - if you go with a more "popular" launch day, you'll have more competition.

Personally I keep an eye on the WSO thread, take notes on what I notice, how many people are viewing the forums etc and did this for a while before I ever launched my first WSO. I also post when it's right for me - you need to make sure you'll be around to answer questions etc.

There's a lot of different perspectives on this.

Some people will bump a WSO whenever there is 1000+ people viewing the board...

I've done that before and had success with it.

There's also an analysis product WSO professor or WSO doctor? something like that that will tell you things like "over the past week posting Wednesday at 3am got the most views" ... things like that . Which is really cool when you think about it.

If you took 3 months worth of that data, you should be able to pin point some great times to launch or bump your products

    Hi Jay,

I try to post in the early afternoon, but I don't get too hung up on it. It's much, much more important to focus on what you are offering, not when you offer it.

There is another problem with threads like this. If everybody says Tuesday at 4pm, then guess what happens? Yep. There's a sudden influx of WSOs at 4pm on Tuesday, thereby artificially increasing your competition.

If you are selling to people all around the world, then any time can work. If you only want people in the US to buy, then try to catch them as they start their day, or right around quitting time for work.

@ James Foster, are you Simon & Garfunkel fan??? (Not sure who will get that reference, but I crack me up!)

    All the best,
    Michael

Even if you choose the most perfect time to post/bump your WSO (let's say Friday Night), chances are, most people would also be posting then and you'll get massive competition.

This is the self destructive prophecy in action here folks.

Either that, or total mass confusion.

One of two things is going to happen.

      1. Majority of folks will pick one time or block of time and everybody and
their grandmother will start posting their WSOs then.

      2. You'll get answers all over the map and nobody is going to have a
fricken clue who is "right" if there even IS such a thing.

So here is what you should do and you can take this to the bank.

Pick a time...any time, any day, and run with it. See what kind of results you get. Then, for your next WSO, pick a different time and day and see
if the results are better or worse.

Bumps are not going to be a good barometer because usually by the first
bump, many people will have seen the ad and sales will always be less than
      the initial post.

And then guess what? you may, after doing three or four WSOs decide that
a particular day and time is best and then when you go to post then, it
blows up in your face...either because, for whatever reason, many people
decided to post then or your offer just happened to suck wind.

With all the variables involved with posting WSOs, trying to nail down a
day and time as optimal for posting is like Quasi Moto trying to get a
      date with Angelina Joli.

Instead of worrying about when to post, work on making an offer that
people will have a hard time passing up. Put it in your sig, contribute to
the forum, show that you're an authority on your subject and in the long
run, it won't make a hill of beans difference WHEN you post your WSO.

Of course this is just my 2 1/2 cents.

Take it for what it's worth to you.

Thats what I thought, too many variables.

I've sent emails to cutomers some days and got a great response, when I tried the same thing on the same day next time I got different results.

Regarding WSO's I've not done one so probably shouldn't comment. I still think there's too many different factors at play or everyone would be doing it already.

I'm not sure there's a definitive time really, as most people have said this would create ridiculous competition and everyone would lose out. From a sellers pov, i would probably check to see how many people were on the forum then post if the number was reasonably high. From a buyers pov, I have a look at the WSO's every day when I log in and I do tend to scroll through at least the last day's offers so not to miss anything. I would say that, if your product and offer is too good to pass, people will find it and purchase it.
