Hey all warriors i had read somewhere that Google gets suspicious and doesnt like site that hide their Who is information.

Well i have registered domains and in whois /domain tools it shows my actual residence address and my email address too and i dont want people to see this so what to do in such a case.

Also when i search my name the whois /domain tools comes up on 1 st page of google on 3rd or 4th position .So its obvious that anyone will see it

I agree with the above - there are legitimate reasons why both personal and company details may be hidden.

Google would not penalise a domain owners right to ownership privacy.

    Hey koolest

Sounds like a job for "Myth Busters". Pretty sure that they would prove that it doesn't cause any grief at all.

There doesn't seem to be much evidence for it. Some think Google may very well apply some sort of 'weighting' in their algorithm if there is whois protection of course.

No, Google does not discriminate regarding whois information. At least not in my practice. I have domains with both hidden whois and public info and there is no indicating Google would be favoring ones over the others.

Change it, remove it or go private, A.S.A.P.! DO it TODAY; not tomorrow!

When I first started in IM, a woman once showed up at my doorstep at night in pitch black darkness on a cul-de-sac, in an area that gets zero traffic expect for the residents.

I have a long driveway and when the doorbell rang and I never heard a car approach, you can imagine how this US Air Force Armed Forces Electronic Intel invisible badger took the situation.

She had no idea how close she came to becoming "Target acquired; target vaporized with extreme prejudice." Turns out she found me from the Whois database info and thought she would muzzy on over unannounced, uninvited and unknown to see if I wanted to have dinner and coffee with her.

      What a dingbat...

Needless to say, I changed my info that night and had to go through the process of wiping all of my personal contact info out of all of the online databases.

NEVER but never put your personal info online like that. All it takes is for a knucklehead to get a hair up their arse for whatever reason; love, hate, indifference, etc., and you may get a unwelcome visitor.

That was using the doorbell. I can't image what would have happened if she had knocked instead.

Hope I never get lost on your street

It is not true, google likes info but it doesn't matter if you hide your whois.

However from a buyers point of view, they might get suspicious and it can hurt your credibility, but then again not all buyers are internet savvy so don't worry much about it!

For the price many pay to cover many private whois info, they could just as easily get a PO box and not hide the info.

I don't think G gives a rip if you are private or not - but personally if I can't get whois info on someone it can affect what I think about their business. Of course it all depends on circumstance.

I like to hide the whois for my niche sites but not for my personal sites. I have around 100 sites all told and have noticed so difference whatsoever in the big G's attitude.

Hey man. That is a myth. Loads and loads of people hide their who is information. It wouldn't make sense for google to penalize you for not revealing your name and address. This is just paranoia for whoever told you this.

As for your second problem, here is how you can solve it.

If you own a blog, then us it. If not, then write an article with your name in the title...
    -social bookmark the blog/article
-republish the article on one of the many article networks out there

It should only take a few days if you have a name that isn't John Anderson.

Within that day, you will see those articles and social bookmarking sites fill up the top 20 or so of Google.

Can you tell me where you read that from? While marketing online for over 10 years, I've never heard that before. I'm very interested to know where you read it.
