Do I still get commission?

Hey Everyone,

I have recently just started promoting Amazon products in my own country with an Amazon Store Script I am using. The whole website is set-up to be an affiliate website where customers can click on on a product, get details, add to cart and check out using Amazon.

What would happen if they got to Amazon and decided to have a look at more products around Amazon before they buy? Will I still get commission for those extra items they have bought?

I think it's a 24-hour cookie, isn't it? So you'd earn commissions on anything else they bought within that time-frame?

    Yes.

So long as they buy stuff in the 24 hour window using your affiliate ID then you get a commission off everything they buy which is why Amazon is so great, some people whine about the apparently low commission but it is the most trusted store on the internet and as such if you do have buying traffic you can earn well in time for just this reason

I know of people who promote something like ipods or something and they end up getting commissions on childrens swingsets and stuff.

Good... but what if a user got to amazon from two different affiliates sites in the 24h? which one will earn the commission?

If you have your link clicked and then someone else has a link clicked after you then I believe the last one will earn the commission, the only way around this is sheer force of numbers.

Last I knew, they had a lower level of commission for peripheral purchases. If you direct them to one book, and they buy another, the commission is a bit lower. Of course they HAVE changed commission values, but that rule may still be in force. But YEAH, you get a commission.
