Good Source for Test Traffic?

Hi Warriors,

I'm trying to find a good (not too expensive) source of targeted traffic to test my sales pages. I considered Google Adwords, but the truth is I don't know enough about Adwords to get started and don't want to lose money.

My site covers five niches: health, career, relationships, credit and book marketing.

1. What are some free or inexpensive sources of quick traffic - around 100 visitors in a week?

2. Should I send traffic directly to a sales page or the home page first where they can then select their interest?

Thanks in advance!

    1. Article marketing, forums, social media, basally go where they are hanging out, and start talking to them.

    2. Split test, but build your list first.

I think this site is pretty cheap: adf.ly - The URL shortening service that pays you! Earn money for every visitor to your links. I haven't used it, and I really doubt if you would get any good conversions from it.

You can also try adBrite Exchange

I would suggest sending the visitors directly to the sales page. Your website covers different topics, and you'll want to target your visitors and them send them to the exact page they would be interested in.

Try creating articles and submit them to directories, Yahoo answers, forum posting etc. For paid traffic you can start with msn adcenter. They can get you some traffic for as low as $0.05/click.

If you want to test the sales page then you need sales, not just traffic. Very important difference.

So I would suggest the quickest and cheapest traffic is affiliates / JV partners / friends

Also while you are waiting I would suggest having an opt-in so you can capture visitors who may add up over time to be enough to test for yourself.

They can also tell you why they didn't buy. They are usually wrong, but they can give you ideas of things to test.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate your feedback. My marketing plan includes most of your suggestions, but I don't want to exhaust the list for test traffic.

Nickolie0990 - Thanks for your tips and for getting the replies started.

JeffH - thanks for answering the question about where to send the test traffic. Good stuff.

Singhavn - thanks for the tip on MSN AdCenter. I'll check them out.

halmo - great and cheap idea about Stumple. I'll check them out as well.

Word of Mouth Magic - good call on the sales. I already have an optin form on each page. It's an exist lightbox and I have the same form in the right sidebar.

I welcome any other suggestions or any tips on how to effectively use Adwords without breaking the bank.

          Cheers!

StumbleUpon Advertising (you need to create a separate account for their advertising - can't use regular SU account). 5 cents for each viewing of your page. Always send traffic to your regular site (they wouldn't approve your sales page anyway).
