Finally started getting Amazon sales

And it only took a year too! lol

I must admit, I am the most inconsistent person out there, it is not that I do not want to write but that I hate doing so, I will try to find absolutely anything and everything to do differently but a while ago I started though and it has been a steep learning curve shifting my ideas from forums management to selling it is starting to all come together, now I have an idea much better than before.

Still gotta wait for my commission to show but I sold around $100, it will not have the bank manager coming around and cracking open the bubbly, but it is MINE!! muwhahahaha.

I'd like to dedicate this to Rod Cortez (who gifted me my War Room membership), Neil V, Darklock, Alexa, BoogieJack, S.Wagenheim, TMG, Gene, AvenueGirl and all the rest so numerous to mention that have helped me along the way...even though you may not know it

    I added Amazon to my arsenal about six months ago and so far I'm very disappointed, I get the traffic and the clicks but my sales in relation to those clicks is abysmal. For example last month one web site, very keyword oriented had 6k+ visitors, 2k clickthoughs to Amazon and 4 sales. I'm attributing it to their 24 hour cookie, the buyers I'm sending them don't purchase immediately and when they return their cookie has expired.

      Congratulations @ OP.

      To get Amazon sales, you got to write in a specific way. A lot depends upon the content. In fact, with the right kind of content, you can see double-digit conversion rates. And without it, you may end up seeing less than 1%. It completely depends upon exactly how you are positioning the product(s) that you want to sell. Also, the nature of the product is important - some products are purchased more online than offline. Amazon will do well on these. As an example, generic articles explaining the benefits of the class of products does not necessarily convert too well but if you take the product that you want to sell and point out its pros and cons you stand a better chance of selling.

    Thanks, it is not that I do not try but I get sidetracked so much...I have a full time job and during that I think of what to do and then as soon as I get onto the computer I forget all that and end up simply reading posts lol

    I just want to give the message though that if you do try and you do hit the sweet spot you can succeed, I am at 35% conversion right now

    I have only earned $6, but it is my $6 and it will all go towards my Florida trip next year :p

      well $6 is $6 and proof what ever you are doing is working well. I am noticing that amazon is working a bit better for everyone at the moment. Maybe it is because of christmas and people out there are struggling are now sort of getting into the christmas habit of spending....what better thing to buy than a book.

      I say congrats to you and keep going....$6 is better than nothing and now just work out how you can double that....then double that. Keep up the good work and reading the amazon tactics in here, there are some great ones!

    It's still a great feeling to open up your account and see some sales. I was making about $30 month there and near $130 month adsense until mayday. It's the 21st and I looked yesterday and was shocked to see my first "4" sales this month. My jaw dropped and it too was only $6 but considering I am now at around $00 daily I was happy.

    Congrats to you seriously and I wish you many many more sales. Just understand that you should still work on your sites. Mine were all recently "sandboxed" and no I don't think it's a myth I had quite a few sites on pages 1 and 2 and now some aren't even ranking....

    Be careful if you are using a plugin because I think that's what happened with mine... too much activity deleting messed up posts and then reposting products etc.

    Get to page 1-2 with a product people are looking for and you should be making at least a few sales a week.

    Good job on that!

    I've tried to focus on just Amazon for the past couple of months. My first ever payment from them was for $50 so it's conceivable to make it.

    Also I would say if you are working full time and hate to write then just find a good article writer that concentrates on Amazon reviews or physical products in general and pay them to do it. Now you get content a lot faster without having to do any of the work and probably get more click thru's and sales as well.

    Amazon is pretty difficult to make a living. Some people are really good at it, but they have to kept at it nearly double time. Over the year I have had Amazon, I believe the account was some where near 250 for the year. What converted well for me was the low end products selling at 25 dollar range. The higher amounts takes time for the buyer to decide unless they just want it from the beginning. Congrats on your success. John T.

      Yes, the low end things go in a snap. That's because people can close eyes and buy. For higher end things, especially for items priced over $1,000, I don't find Amazon convert well at all so far - maybe it's just the products that I am using. I have seen decent conversions for products up to $200. But when I sell a particular item at $19 or so, I find it selling even when I am recommending a different product priced higher and mentioning this only as a second option with a decent feedback. So its interesting in its own way.
