Article Spinning or Not

I am very new to IM and I apologize if this question has been asked before. I have been doing a lot of research on Affiliate Marketing and using Articles and most things I have read say that Google does not like dupicate content and that if we are to submit our Articles to directories we need to spin them to stay away from this duplication. Yet I have read posts on this site that say we do not need to spin our Articles as Google only cares about duplication on our own sites (I believe that is what is being relayed?) Just to clarify, I am talking about creating original articles not those from PLR sites. Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Personally, I am not too much in favor of spinnning although spinning can not hurt. But many others do prefer spinning and in fact insist upon spinning. In my opinion, Google views unspinned articles as syndication and values the backlinks they give also. Duplicate content has nothing to do with spinning. It is about the same content being found in multiple pages within the same website.

Google does not like duplicate content on your own site, i.e. posting the same article several times on your own site is a definite no no. Some sites, e.g. Hubpages and Ezine Articles, will not accept articles that have been submitted elsewhere EXCEPT on your own site.

I always post an article on my site first and then submit it to Ezine and there is never a problem. I prefer to rewrite rather than spin articles because, unless you use an excellent piece of software, the results can be dire. As a writer, I find that easy and I also prefer to submit original content in a considered way because I believe that is a better way to build my business.

I use spinning very effectively. I have thousands of urls to promote and any tool that allows me to create unique content from a single base article is a time and $$$ saver. I usually create one 600 word article and spin it into 50 uniques. The process takes a cpl. hours. Compare that to writing 50 unique articles and you see the savings. We use the the best article spinner and after getting used to it through trial and error, now consider a very valuable part of our IM arsenal...

Submitting the same article (unchanged/unspun) to multiple directories/sites is not duplicated content; it's syndicated content ... and there's no "penalty" for it.

Also, for the purpose of acquiring backlinks, you do not have to spin or rewrite your articles.

Google will likely only place one instance of the article (on one site) in its main index (the rest going into the "supplemental" index), but that doesn't mean that the backlinks from those other copies do not count, or are worth any less.

So if you're just looking to get backlinks for SEO and referral-traffic from others' sites, there is really no need to rewrite or spin your articles at all. Instead just syndicate them as-is (but publish them and ensure they're indexed in Google on your own website first!).

The time you save by not rewriting/spinning can then be much more efficently used for writing your next article.

Yes, Steve Wagenheim who is right here in the WF wrote a very good post on this a while ago.. He is a great article marketer, and I listen to every word he says at a drop of a hat.

Our article marketing efforts have been ok, but he has some great tips we have been testing. There are a lot of myths about with article marketing, i think the best thing to do is look for the best article marketers in here and follow their every advice... i watch what steve and zues (both WF members) with some great posts on how to be come efficient at article and posting.
