Where could I put banner ads on my site?

Hi,

I have a new site that I am working on and would like to know where the optimal place to sell space to advertisers on my site would be.

The sites at Challenge Oxfordshire

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi

    I think you could insert a 468Ã--60 banner in the header
    and can put a 300 x 250 or 180 x 150 in the sidebar.

    you could put one near the menu; people often fail to discriminate between the banner and a menu button, especially if their shape is similar; also, you could put a larger one on the side, you have plenty of space there; oh and another one within the text, but not on the main page, somewhere when people click on the content to "read more", somewhere integrated in the text.

    also, if you want, you could make the logo smaller, and put a leaderboard (728x90) under the search box

      For me the best place would be in the right area or side bar. We usually see that place for paid advertisement in almost every site.
