Should I be trying to beat Amazon & Google Shopping Results to Number 1 spot?
Every keyword that I have found brings up Amazon, Google Shopping results, Wikipedia, Product Manufacturer websites and other high page rank websites in the top 1-5 positions of Google's Page 1.
Amazon is the big problem, as my whole goal is to feed shoppers from my site into theirs. Even with less popular keywords, Amazon is usually there. What are the chances of shoppers deliberately overlooking Amazon, looking at my site and clicking back through to Amazon?
Now my question is: am I on the right track? should I spend time trying to make a site with great content and loads of backlinks that can beat Amazon and it's Page 1 friends? Or should I be avoiding trying to rank on such Page 1's like the plague and go for more niche keywords?
Thanks,
Bryan
