Product Owners, How Do You Split Test or Track Advertsing If u Are Using Wordpress?

I would like to start tracking different traffic sources and I also want to do split testing for my own product. I use Wordpress and have no idea how to go about getting my tracking done. I know RAP is good for html sites and they have a Wordpress plugin available as well.

Any tips will me much appreciated.

    Jan - I have a plugin that I bought as a WSO from a warrior here. It works great and it was something like $27.

    I think the guy's name was Eric Transue. Google it and you'll probably find it. Great plugin for Wordpress to use along with Google Website Optimizer.

    Here's what I'm using right now. AdTrackz Gold - AD Tracking Software - Easily track which of your traffic sources are effective.

    It looks old as all hell...but it works.

    I'm also using Prosper202. However, I've settled on Adtrackz.

    Google Website Optimizer frustrated the hell out of me. There's no way to manage lost/extra sales or edit a campaign once it's running. It proved to be rather inaccurate with WP also.

    I also looked at HyperTracker, but the monthly recurring and fear of 3rd party hosting led me back to Adtrackz.

      Looks like a good program. I was thinking of Prosper202 as well but will check out Adtrackz first. Thanks for the info.

    Allan, ATZG is perfect for Beta splits...Google not so good If your running on site SEO with WP..(won't see accurate Bing #'s) also stick to the free and simple until your Beta reaches over 50 Ad Camp's...focus on Beta content...NOT KW's!!

      I've been looking into ad trackers, although not necessarily for WP.

      Adtrackz looks great, I love the interface they show on the website, knowledgable people have suggested it, the price is good....but...

      If you do a bit of research here on WF you'll see people say support is very slow to non existent. There's one thread where someone else on the forum had to give out a code patch no one could get from the source, and the problem was fairly major.

      I suppose it's inexpensive enough you should expect that you're on your own support wise but you'll need to run that against your personal risk to reward ratio.

      I don't know about WP application, but a lot of the CPA folks use Prosper 202 or Tracking 202. They're free.

    Nothing beats VisualWebsiteOptimizer for split testing, it wont provide your tracking needs as such, but for split tests it's perfect!

    I just bought Adtrackz Gold. The installation documentation is a bit hard to find but the install went smooth. I am experiencing a major problem with it though... the links it generates for a campaign or split test are bad.

    I've tested the links I put into the HTML link generator and I know they work. However, the links that Adtrackz Gold spits out generate an "Internal Server Error" when clicked on. :confused:

    I've got a support ticket into them; hopefully they'll respond with a fix! Stay tuned...

        I got a reply from them with which provided me with simple CHMOD instructions. All is good now; it seems to be working just fine.

        Alan, to answer your question I purchased the non-WP version.

        Others have commented that the support was slow to non-existent; I'm hear to report that, while they took a few hours to get back to me, respond they did with a solid fix!

    This thread is a bit old, but I've completely switched away from Google Website Optimizer and now throw my vote towards Visual Website Optimizer.

    It's WAY easier to use.
