I am from the old school and boy have things changed. I owned an internet marketing company for about 10 years and made enough I thought to retire on. Well That turned out not to be true so I am at it again.

Everything has changed. I am just wondering about these squidoo lenses. I here that they are great for traffic and pr. However, I would like some suggestions on creating a good lens. I have the niche and I am just looking for some pointers where squidoo is concerned. I am sure others would appreciate the input as well.

Thanks

A lot of people here have lenses for you to check out.

    Here are a couple:

    www.Squidoo.com/niche-dollars

And here is a short multimedia presentation that might help you:

I'll bet they'll get you started.

    Good luck with it!

Thank you for your help. As I said, I am old school and most of the techniques that I used are outdated.

Yeah when I'm creating a squidoo lens for certain niches I just search squidoo and look for the TOP ranking squidoo lens and figure out what there doing right and who there linking to and all that good stuff.

Saves me a lot of time, better than trying to wing it!

      Dontrell,
That is good advice, and I'm gonna take next time I make a lens. I made two, and they sure took me longer than the 15 minutes Squidoo says it takes! Course, those were my first two and I like to put out quality with everything, not junk, since it's gonna stay floating around for who-knows-how-long! Anyway, copying a master is always a good idea.

You can also go to squidoo and search for anything related to squidoo, but I must agree that in this forum, Tiffany Dow is the expert.

Squidoo is very easy to use and quick to set up a page. It has some wizard like features that will step you through creating a lens and let you know if you should add more content.

It is basically a social networking article site. To get the word out on lens you create you can build relationships (add fans) and cross-promote.

(funny...I just went to the Squidoo home page and Tiffany Dow was featured)

Squidoo is fun and easy...be careful not to get pulled in too deeply!!!!

 I'd love to meet the person who can create a quality custom built squidoo lens in 15 minutes - LOL!

I'm a really fast builder, yet it still takes me around 5 hours at least to research the subject niche, find the most profitable long-tail keywords, develop the information, write it up, find or buy some great graphics, add my html code for the special features I use in the presentation... then you have to search out amazon for products that relate, get decent relevant videos from Youtube, the right keyword focus for eBay, etc until you finally find some decent products that you want the lens to features, and then research and write links and survey questions for the Clickbank books you want to feature in your Polls and text links...

I follow the training of Tiffany Dow and Karl Pemberton, and I think the quality shows in the lenses I build... but WOW! the day will never, never come when lenses can be built properly at more than a couple a day at the best, and I'm FAST!!
