My Facebook/Clickbank Experiment

Hello! My name is James Riley. I am new to the forum and thought I would make a valuable first post. Instead of asking, how can I make money online? I went ahead and rolled out with an experiment. I ran a Facebook ad campaign targeting married women over 25 in the US, UK, and Canada promoting a "catch your husband cheating" type info product. Check my Ad spend:

And my hops:

Replace xx with tt, sorry the forum would not allow me to post links/images yet as my post count is not 15 or greater.

I was not expecting to spend that much, especially since I just set the bid and refreshed the page and spend all that in a matter of seconds...crazy traffic on fb. Hopefully I will get a sale. The other thing I was promoting is a guide for beating California speeding tickets, but I paused the campaign because I started it late but I think it will be better to run tomorrow during the day after everyone is off work generally. I spent $1.25 on that campaign so far. So I pretty much spent $20 for 65 hops of targeted traffic, at least I think its targeted. I'm pretty much just winging it here trying to take action instead of just reading guide after guide. At the very least, I will learn from my mistakes and have a even greater desire/passion to do it right and that will motivate me more. I will report back when I make a sale. Thanks for reading

Welcome to the Warrior Forum James

You definitely have the right idea. The difference between failure and success in internet marketing is often the hesitation to actually DO something.

You are totally starting off on the right foot.

One thing I recommend you do straight away (if you have not already done so) is to create a giveaway ebook so that you can start building up your email list.

Well done for throwing yourself into the thick of things

Best of luck with your experiment... I have bad experience with FB.. Got hell lot of clicks but conversion was pathetic. Don't know why the users clicked on the ad when they were not interested in the product... nevertheless got some valuable data on demographics for that offer...

While I commend you for your action, I think you should have done a little research first. If you did, then forgive me.

PPC is a wild beast to tame. It's definitely not something I'd recommend going into blind. A little knowledge will save you a lot of money.

Like someone above said - use the targeted traffic to build a list with a nice little ebook giveaway.

Then follow up with some good tips. THEN sell the product.

    Hi James,

Interested to know how your fb ppc is going.

I fell into the adwords trap on my first IM beginnings, ended up paying out about $100 dollars before I realized! (and nosales..)

Would still consider ppc but, as a previous poster said, it does need careful research first.

    Good luck anyway,

    TonyB

As others have mentioned, it's tough to make FB ads > ClickBank offers work because FB users aren't actively looking for what you're offering.

You have to warm them up and suck them into your world with some freeline content first.

If either of those vendors provide brandable reports with you hoplink inside, I'd put that right on your landing page and let prospects download it without an optin.

Ya im not sure sure fb PPC is so great for clickbank e-books, it defiantly has its purpose though with CPA offers and other things. Although I still think it could work with Clickbank but yeah they need to be warmed up. I moved the campaign over to Adwords as I have a $100 advertising credit, but now I have to create a short report (promoting the main product from within) and a landing page. Should I send them to the product sales page after they opt-in?

Send them to a one time offer where you give them a unresistable offer for a special price. Then send them to your main product in follow up emails after you gave them some useful info.

You should never pay for traffic and point them right to an affiliate product... I've had very poor results doing this.

Instead create a new report with a nice looking cover, and gather emails from your squeeze page. Then you can promote your affiliate products.

That niche requires a bit of technique to sell. It's not that easy to sell to that niche. I've personally had to work hard to get traffic and see only a few sales.

I will let you know of something that worked for me in the niche... Can't promise it will work with facebook traffic. (Although it could work much better than article traffic). Just PM me and I'll tell you what you can do.

I don't give a darn abt facebook and I hate it. It is not going to help you with your marketing. Its a nice way to just be in touch with thousands of people who you've met and known.

Plus your clicks are too low to determine. You need to send at least 250 vistors to get a sale. That is the average conversion rate(TRUTH)... Not 3% and not even 1% except for product launches.

There is a warrior (won't give his handle) who since April has been selling an ebook that does just that.
He says put your CB affiliate link into clickbank ad and you will drive traffic. Tried that and for some reason the clickbank preview said that clickbank is a site known for Malware so Facebook DOES NOT like clickbank.

So will try building small niche blogs for product and use facebook to try and drive traffic, while at the same time doing article marketing. I guess his techniques don't work. 5th SWO this month that either didn't work or has to be manipulated to work. Getting tired of this!
