How much did it take for you to quit?

For everyone doing IM full time, was wondering how much did you have to consistently make monthly online before you quit your day job? What was the transition like?

The first time or the second time? LOL

I flew solo for over a year, then a flaw in my business model reared its ugly head.

I had to go back to work, and I held a job for three years.

Before quitting the second time, I made sure I was matching or exceeding my on-the-job income for a minimum of 12 months.

The second time around, the transition was sweet, but I suddenly found I had an extra 60 hrs a week on my hands, and I did not quite know how to make the best use of that extra resource.

I retired from the job marketing in March of 2005.

It is really hard to decide on quitting your job. First Making Online business is a big risk so you need to balance things first. I guess better not to quit your job right away if your still on the starting point of your online business. You need to make sure that you will hit the things that you want before quitting on your day to day job.

      I didn't have a job.

That increases the motivation a little.

If you want to be safe when you start making money simply save your job income (don't spend any of it).

When you've saved your entire income from your job for a reasonable period of time (for most people between 3 months and 24 months) then you can feel more confident about quitting.

You'll also have some reserves just in case there are fluctuations in your business income.

      Kindest regards,
      Andrew Cavanagh
