I LOVE the free webs websites. As an untechno person, they are fantastic for me to build sites with. I love the features they offer and the simplicity.

I have a couple which I upgraded and have bought domains for, but they are personal sites, not really revenue oriented, but I was wondering how well the free versions would work as money making sites? As they are free, I can have as many as I like, but are they going to be a waste of time?

I went to take a look at your site and when I clicked on the download the diaper cake, I had to be a member in order to get the download. Unless I am doing something wrong. If that is the case, and the only people who can get your download have to be members, I might think this would really cut down on your traffic and conversions.

I think that because I believe many people would just go somewhere else for their guide rather than logging into the site.

I happen to be a firm believer that you get what you pay for, and these sites are free. Now, does that also apply to traffic? I really happen to be on the fence with this one. Yes, having a domain can be and is really and advantage. But, at the same time if you can cut your overhead then that is always an advantage.

The free sites like Webs.com, Blogger, and Weebly to just name a few will work in a pinch. If you are trying to set something up, or maybe just testing the waters then they may be the answer.

You see if the resources that these free sites offer you.
    Can you use an autoresponder?
    Can you install web forms?
Can you personalize content, graphics, general page presentation?
    Can you include tags, keywords?
    How about bandwith?

Are you planning on growing your site?

or are you going to always keep it simple?

    Minisite or master site?

If you are doing CPA they usually require a paid hosting and domain.

I understand that free sites are usually seen as undervalued.

But if it works for you, keep it.

    Sincerely,

    Antonios

There are free websites are out there such as Blogger and Wordpress but there is not that many out there that are totally useful. Useful in the sense that they will allowing commercialisation or sites that will get indexed by Google. The easiest and the most time saving thing is to invest in your own sites.
