I'm not totally new to Internet Marketing. I've been a life coach with several clients, but I was part of an organization that did all our marketing for us. So, here I am ready to start with Internet Marketing. I've thought about self-improvement sites, but the market seems to be overly saturated with those types of sites. I have my own product, a five-week course that was formerly titled "Relaunching Your Life" (I think I'll be changing the name), but I can't figure out a way to market it. Should I put it on clickbank or do a WSO or?
I'm just soliciting input on what you experienced marketers think.

I'm also considering just doing affiliate marketing, but after reading on here, I am not sure how lucrative this would be. Any help would be appreciated. I have many ideas swirling in my head, but I don't have the background to implement them. YET. I'll be doing tons of research, but I was hoping that someone could give me some ideas.

I'm not trying to get other people to do my work for me - I'm more than willing to work hard. I just thought experienced warriors might be able to point me in a couple of directions. Thanks so much for any help you can give me.

    Kristie,

It sounds like you had some clients in previous jobs. Why not contact those former clients and ask them simply what it was that convinced them to work with you in the past? You must have had some uniqueness that attracted them to you.

My advice is to play on your personality strengths and infuse as much of 'you' as you possibly can. There is no reason you can't create self-improvement sites as long as they have your unique spin on them. Again, you must have something that people covet or you would not have been able to acquire customers in your first go-round.

Ask your friends, family, past co-workers and customers what your top 3 qualities were according to them and build on those qualities for your sites.

Add as much of 'YOU' as you can to your products and services and the rest will most assuredly take care of itself.

    Good luck!

Thank you. That's a good idea, and I hadn't thought of it before. I was part of a large organization of coaches, so I didn't need to market before. Now that I'm trying to branch out into the North American market, it's all on me. Good idea, and I appreciate it!

It sounds like your experienced and knowledgeable in the self improvement niche, as you probably already know…that’s a HUGE niche. People can’t seem to get enough of it or most of the related products (self help books, books on CD, Seminars…etc). Why don’t you spend a little more time researching IM in general and once you find the approach/method that most interests you then dive a little deeper in it.

I would think someone with your background could easily run a newsletter/membership site related to your niche once you had the understanding of the IM side of things. You could build a decent squeeze page, offer an informative “special report” for free to start building your list and take it from there. Maybe offer related affiliate products, make your own product, and offer life coaching to your members…

    Lots of possibilities!

    Good luck!

That's a good idea, too. I think I do need some more research in to Internet Marketing. I have a blog with my name on it, but I was basically just using it for personal blogging. Perhaps I could use that to promote a membership site. Hmmm...got me thinking!

For more there has always just be two things that leads to success in this internet marketing thing. They are:

    1. Building your audience (Your List)
    2. Building your assets (Selling stuff to your list, that pays you over and over again)

So my advice would be start learning how you could start building your audience. This could be an email list, twitter following, youtube subscribers, RSS readers or even facebook friends. Sense you already have a product, I would recommend start finding Joint Ventures with other people in the market, may do some interviews with them, promote there product in the interview, and sell it as an affiliate.

And have the other person promote your product to there list. Just make sure your building a audience that will give you LONG TERM income.

    Hope that helps.

Don't think a WSO would fit. And going with clickbank may take time. I'd go for paypal.

Sel development niche has a lot of competition... I would turn that course into a video course and also add some mp3 stuff, plus a report. Then look for SEO services and design in the WSO section.

Capture leads with a squeeze page, giving away a free report on your topic with the link to your product and a discount coupon inside. Try to sell YOUR product to your list using autoresponder series and afeer a few weeks of giving away info and ALSO doing a bit of hard selling, write a few emails recomending affiliate stuff.

    Cheers.

PD. Also... perhaps you want to translate your product and "attack" othe language markets.

Ok, your last sentence sent me into the stratosphere. I hadn't even considered that. That sounds like a wonderful idea; I plan to implement it as soon as I can. I wonder if I can hire a translator on the Warrior Forum? Thanks!

    Kristie,

In my opinion your first ventures should always be in a niche you have some personal knowledge of as it will make the learning process easier.

As I have sent to other people, Vadym's helping affiliate course is a great starter book that deals with this...although the links are outdated the core message is the same. It is completely free and helped me on my way to making money online

Was Relaunching Your Life popular? Did those that used it find it helpful and meaningful? If so I think I would try (as others mentioned) to market yourself and the fact that you were the author / inventor (whatever the case may be) of that "successful course that changed X amount of lives for the better"

In your niche thats a certain attention getter and could start to establish you as an authority right off the bat.

    SOOOOOO many possibilities!

Ok, I know all you warriors are going to cringe at this, but I don't have all the contact information on all my former clients. The main site has all that information. I do have a few that I can contact who have stayed in touch with me. I think I will get in touch with them and solicit some testimonials. Your idea is really good. Thanks again!

I strongly suggest that you stick to what you are good at. As it happens, there are many angles to the self-development niche and it is by no means saturated.

In fact, it makes for an ideal niche because continual learning niches such as internet marketing, forex, learn poker, self-development etc. are the best. You can market to these prospects over and over again and set up a product funnel where x% of your visitors buy $7 product from you. Then x% of those customers buy a more expensive product from you etc. etc. all the way up to coaching.

There is no harm in chasing the money in niches you know nothing about but if you already have a strength in an excellent niche (as you do) then I would fully leverage your existing knowledge and focus on it.

What are your two sites I can see? One doesn't work and the other is a single page. Are these serious efforts or intended to be at some point?
    Thanks Chris!!

The DivorceYourTravelAgent.com site is several pages, not one? Each post opens to a new page. I hope it is showing as different pages.

I'm not sure what other site you are referring to (unless it is the youcanlookgreat.com site (that was for a network marketing company I was affiliated with. Their page is often slow to load or shows up as unavailable.) I've toyed with the idea of using it for something else.)
I do have a site that's just my name, but it's not ever been intended as a marketing tool. It was me rambling away...However, some of these great ideas have made me rethink that.

Your point about a funnel sounds interesting. I really am going to have to figure out creative ways of blogging for self-improvement.

Please let me know what you think about the DivorceYourTravelAgent.com site. It basically has just been a way for me to blog about traveling on a budget (something I've gotten very good at lately!)

Thanks so much for your help!

Have you thought of turning the product you currently have into a paperback book and audio book? You can do them yourself at Createspace and they will automatically be published on Amazon.

Then put information in your book and audio book about the life coaching services you offer. Plug your website. Put an opt-in form on your site and start building your list and getting clients.

Also, contact website owners and blog owners who are in the same niche as you. Offer to write an article for their newsletter or website in exchange for a link back to your website, where you have the opt-in form.

Offer to do a first session free type of service to qualified customers. You can get a lot of business fast this way, and most will stick around (I used to do consulting, and this was extremely effective for me).

You could also consider getting on LivePerson and offering your services online on a pay-per-minute basis. Though they do most of their advertising for the "metaphysical" providers, they would offer you some free advertising and you could get some clients without any marketing on your part.
