See what happens when you go to their fanpage

No discussion needed. The stupidity speaks for itself

No. Tourism has a history of very bad marketing. I mean seriously bad.

Now they make a facebook fanpage that can't be opened. Makes you wonder how they can even market Australia.

    • Well, there are other and better ways to market Australia than through a facebook fanpage...come on, aren't there more important things?

With half a billion users, incredible interactivity, fanpages, groups etc etc the time and the effort required would be worthwhile.

Regardless, if you are going to do something, do it properly. They create a fanpage then do that. Dumb.

Well, I find this "half a billion users" always a bit exaggerated...there is no way that your fanpage (or Tourism Australia's) will ever be exposed to that number. Or half of that. Or quarter of that. On top of that, the majority of facebook users aren't interested in some tourism fanpage, it's just not the right demographic.

Are they actually promoting that link? Or is it just a cool keyword that you thought should be used?

If no one links to it and no one knows about the link, then it really doesn't matter.

Ah, yes, they do have a link to it at the bottom. Though if you go to the Twitter link, the Twitter profile sends people to this Facebook link: Australia | Facebook

So it appears they simply have a typo and need to add the "See" in front of Australia.

So they DO have a Fan page that works, but they DON'T have the right link on the one page.

Either way, it's an error on their part.

Not hacked. Tourism Australia has been very bad at marketing so I'd say they (using Australian slang) stuffed up. They made a mistake/error.
