EPN vs Amazon

Hi all,

Just wanted to check with you guys. I have mostly been using EPN on some of my sites running pretty well. However since EPN changed to getting payd per click it all got worse. Before you got a nice extrabonus for signing a new customer to Ebay but now that is gone. All in all the income has gotten a lot worse since the change and I was just wondering about you guys if you have turned to Amazon or still keep going with Ebay?

    The money is still better with EPN. I have both on my sites but EPN always comes first. Their formula is such a joke, you'd literally have to be a rocket scientist to unravel it.

    What'r you gonna do though?

    It's not just the commissions - EPN pulls better seo traffic just by the nature of their listings. With the recent changes that Amazon has made, limiting hourly calls, taking out reviews, etc. - it just makes it harder with Amazon to pull in traffic with the listings.

    I have a few sites that are static (not blogs) and have Amazon listings on them but the product listings are all iframes so do NOTHING to help with the on page seo.

    I have seen some serious success with Amazon, and I would love to join EPN, but they always deny my sites. Either way I generally promote niche specific items through Amazon and have done quite well with women's fashion items and toys. My traffic to my action figure niches has boomed with Christmas coming up, and I expect them to do quite well this year.

    The only thing that sucks with Amazon is the 24 hour cookie. I wish it was more like 72 hours, as I know many people will do some research and then come back later to buy, often times not the same day. What is nice about Amazon is that if they enter Amazon through your site anything they buy pays you a commission.

    So if they enter through your site shilling shoes and they end up buying their son some PS3 games while they are shopping you get a commission off those as well.

    With just 2 sites I was averaging about $825 a month on EPN and the pay per click system. At the end of October there was a huge spike in my clicks to eBay and the next day my EPC dropped from .16 to .02. It took about 3 weeks to get back up to .10 and just a couple days ago I got another spike in traffic and my EPC is free falling again. Not sure what the deal is but I finally wrote an email to EPN. I don't expect any results as I've heard many horror stories about EPNs customer service/PR.

    I just recently started with Amazon and currently have about 235 clicks and only 9 sales. I'm sticking with it though to see if it gets any better.
