Which Hosting do you use, I tend to use either host gator or godaddy?

I am wondering how you set up hosting, do you tend to host one domain on one account

Or

Do you run multiple domains ( add 0n ) on the same hosting account.

Does it matter

HostGator Baby Hosting Account - Unlimited Domains/Emails/Disk Space - It's $10/month and everything I need. I buy my domains from GoDaddy. Right now I'm hosting like 20 domains. I prefer to use static HTML/CSS sites, but do have Wordpress installed on two of the domains. I also use Subdomains and use Filezilla for all my uploading needs!

    CHEERS & HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Hi. I have accounts with Resellerzoom, Hostgator, and Bluehost. All work well for me. I use Resellerzoom and Hostgator for Reseller accounts and Bluehost for running a main domain plus add-on domains.

I forgot to mention that as one time I used Powervps.com for virtual private server hosting. They were also fine for me. I no longer have that account but only because I no longer need a virtual private server. If my online needs change, I may go back or may start the search over again.

If you are in the market for hosting...

Take a look at HostGator's Black Friday Sales.

You will be able to get a shared hosting account for .99 cents!

There is a thread on here somewhere, that just got relatively big today, discussing the promotion. Affiliates just got the e-mail about all of it today.

In response to your question, if you have multiple domains you'd obviously want to select an 'unlimited domains' hosting plan that allows you to host multiple domains using the same account.

Lots of good deals this time of year for hosting.

Choosing the right hosting company for your site is not an easy task. The market for web hosting companies is almost saturated and there are hundreds of such companies available on the internet. Before choosing your web host, you have to determine your present and future needs. The following points may be considered before choosing your web hosting company.

Determine how much space you are going to need for your site. When you are going to build a simple website with only a few files, a large space is not required. But if you are planning to build a large site with thousands of files, you will need a much larger space. you will also have to keep in mind the requirement for any future expansion.

Godaddy doesn't allow any more than 1 website on their economy plans just a heads up.

Just a few tips before you choose your host. Good luck!

To host multiple sites you can use addon domains, or you can get a reseller account.
A reseller account gives you a separate control panel for each site.

I like to mix and match; I have a hostgator mini-croc (or whatever it's called!) which runs just fine; however, I also have reseller hosting so that I can spread the load better .... I know hostgator is providing great service but I'm always nervous when everyone and their favorite pet seems to herd into one hosting company ..... :O)

I am using webhostingpad and paying $2.95/mo to host hundreds of sites with thousands of pages. OK so far no major issue. With other companies they shut you down and soon as traffic picks up.

Folks, I have gone through lots of hosting companies. Most charge a lot more as in approx $20 / mo. AND, they are not always up. Most are great at giving me excuses. For example, one hosting company that I had used for years just shut down one of my forums for excessive bandwidth use.

It was really sad when people realize web hosting is a racket says me. I was getting a lot of traffic then BAM, they crush me. Interesting as that hosting company was only one that has programmers 24/7 to help me fix code, but well that is in the past now. I will not miss em.

Great point; I like to keep domain registrations and hosting accounts with different companies. If the hosting company gives problems, I have control of the domain names and move them to a new host. I also use different registrars for domains depending on how serious I am about them - cheap does fine for a throwaway domain but I like to think that other domains have to be registered with a registrar with more clout! I could be fooling myself, of course.

You can get cheap .info's from Godaddy. Buy 6 and get free privacy.

Cheap .com's with privacy at Netfirms (google for discount code $4.95, maybe still on sale)

Hosting fro Hostgator. There's a thread on the forum which says they will be doing a Black/Cyber Friday sale.

I ususally use GoDaddy's Delux Shared hosting which allows 150 GB space, 1500 GB Bandwidth and unlimitied domains.

GoDaddy's best thing which I like is thousands of free apps like WP, Joomla. You can use them for your each domain.

Yes, you need your own domain name and hosting if you want to use wordpress.org. With wordpress.org you install the wordpress software on your server (easy to do) and you are in full control.

I have a few accounts with companies such as Ultimate Marketing Center and IX Web Hosting.

Even if you are just starting out I recommend getting a reseller account so you can add domains as you build your business.

Hostgator are decent also if you are not running too many scripts on your website.

I started with shared hosting at Dreamhost. Got a lot of different IPs from them.
Since six months I have a reseller account at hostnine.
The allow you to choose between three places in the US, one in the UK and one in Asia where to host your domains.

    And today:
I will add one more reseller account with Host Gator if I manage to get their 80 % discount they offer in their Black Friday promotion.

I'm planning on jumping on this deal as well, and am not sleeping here as a result. It's only about 2 hours from 5 am here, and I'm keeping awake with lots of strong tea; this is the best deal that they've ever had in 8 years and I'm definitely not missing out on it!

If you have the money get a VPS and just make as many websites as you can on it, if you find a good host you will get a fair price for great speed. I won't recommend any hosts because I'm biased. But I will say to stay far away from host gator and godady.

Didn't want to create a thread. For people who want to get a new hosting account, take advantage of the black friday deal.

Like many pointed out, Hostgator has amazing deals with 80% discount. It's only for new customers.

Dreamhost also seems to have a discount. It will only cost you around $22/year if you order today. You might want to google about their offer. I don't know if it available for existing customers.

I got the information that while it is not valid for existing accounts an existing customer can open an additional account.

I will try this.. Addiing a reseller account to my shared hosting.

I used ,ots in the past. Ones I have and would reccommend:

    1&1
    ITCinternet
    123-reg.co.uk for basic stuff

I would NOT recommend Fast Hosts. Stay well away as my domain got used for spam via their server a few years back and it brought the site down - hardware failure due to overload on outgoing emails... they denied it was their fault and I had to pay tover £1000 to get it back working but with another company.

      GoDaddy,HostGator and 1&1 are great!
It is easy to do multiple domains on the same account as long as you pay for that option. Other companies like HostGator have deals going on all the time (I always see signs on the highway with things like "code: GATOR for a free month" or whatever), but GoDaddy is always quality.
It's really up to you though - search through and see which ones have the best deals right now!

I use host upon and right now they have a great deal for 3 years plus a free domain name but it's only good til 11:59 tonight. The link is in my sig and yes it is an affiliate link but it's a great deal. I have been using them for almost 2 years and have had excellent support anytime I needed help with something.

They respond almost immediately to support requests and any problems I had have been taken care of within a few hours although I really only had a problem once.

I wouldn't recommend them if I didn't really think that their support was awesome.

I forgot just in case you don't see my thread on this and you are interested you have to enter blackfriday in the promo code box when you get to the checkout.
