Squeeze page & funnel setup

Hi All,

I need help please to set up a squeeze page and funnel or flow of 'traffic' please. In a nutshell I don't know / understand what tools I should be could or should be using and the direction and flow of my offers.

I want to build a list by offering a free report, basically prospects can receive the report when they sign up to my list.

Assuming I can get traffic and have a good report is the following correct?

Sqeeze page with optin for free report ->
Auto responder with free report ->
Follow up autoresponder with great value content followed by an offer

Q. should I host the squeeze page on a wordpress blog or a html website?
Q. where can I get a sqeeze page with optin, free if possible?
Q. if I offer a video as my product how do I deliver this, assuming I have set up a 1 page website for this, how do I stop other people from viewing it or telling others the url to get it for free?

    You can use either HTML or WordPress. If you don't have any knowledge of HTML, WordPress might be easier to set up. Within WP, you simply make a one page website and put the text and graphics you want. You can design your opt-in form within your autoresponder provider (Aweber or whatever) then just copy and paste the code into your website.

    If you're going to offer video, you might want to consider hosting it - the video, not your site - on Amazon, because if it's a large file and you get lots of downloads (we should all be so lucky!) you could run into problems with your hosting provider.

    As far as protecting your content from unauthorized downloads, I don't bother. At least I don't for free stuff. I "cloak" the URL a bit by naming the file something un-guessable, but I don't spend money to protect it. Not worth the time or expense for free content, IMO.

    Re your squeeze page, send me a PM and I will give you a squeeze page you can adapt to suit your own purposes.

    When I do videos I upload to youtube and mark as private (so normal web surfers cannot view) I then embed the code from youtube on my site.
    I have done this before with a series of tutorial videos all in a line one below the other and it worked really well.
    Another way is to use camtasia to get flv or swf files and use flash and no one can view the files until they get to your download/thankyou page.

    I have just used this method for a set of 12 Video tutorials on How To Create a simple Website From Scratch.

    Re your last querie, you cant really stop people from passing on the download page url and since the number of unscrupulous people that would do that is so low, I wouldnt spend any time worrying about it.

      Hi Stuart,
      yes,your idea of “how it is done” is correct.
      I suggest hosting your squeeze page on a Wordpress blog, because it is easier to set up and a popular fad among businesspeople.
      You can design the squeeze page with opt-in using one of a multitude of websites, ranging from random private generators to going through your own autorespond provider.
      If you want to host your video securely, you could host the video on your website, then make it a password-protected site (and only give the password to people with valid access).
      However, it is sometimes easier to just have the video have an obscure URL – not many people would see it invalidly, and it’s not as big of a hassle because you don’t have to deal with password distribution.
      The most important thing is that you host it yourself – if you host it on YouTube or something, anyone can find it!

    As for stoping people, if they want to share it, they will, but you can use a system like RAP for prevention.

    I know how to do it.

    1. Use OptimizePress or JVpress
    2. Use GraphicRiver.com to find the pictures that you want to use
    3. Use ejunkie or clickbank to sell your product.

    lol...you may get all kinds of conflicting answers to this question presenting you with a common newbie problem: Information overload. Instead, choose one technique and do it. If you get stuck somehwhere with some techie stuff you don't understand, go to digital point and pay someone to go into your page and fix it for you. That's what I do.
