Need Help..Is This A Good Idea???

Ok with 2011 coming up im brainstomring ideas and need advice from the greats on WF here.

I have a main money site. Its a music site with over 3,000 products. It used to do GREAT 10 years ago but now with a lot of sites offering the same music for free sales are down but not completely done. I think they rather still buy from me since I put it on CD rather then MP3 (some are old school )

So, with this main site its all product meaning no articles, news etc just straight to the point search what you want and buy it.

I do have blog however that is using a exact match domain to one of the main products I sell on my main site. The blog is linked from my main site and in the blog I offer news, videos, articles with tons of links pointing back to the main site (so if they like something they can get it at the main site)

So that makes 2 sites so far. Now I have another domain that is another exact match domain BUT this one is a .TV and the .com is my main competitor. The difference though in his site is that its a well known forum so anyone interested in this niche can go to him for things. Its VERY BIG but I known him for over 10 years and there is no way I could be him with his clout.

However I can feel I can still take a slice of that traffic with this plan. With the exact match .TV domain I want to build a you tube site using PHPMotion I have used it before and again the plans for this site is making it a you tube style site ONLY for this music genre. So that way all related videos and ads will be for this music style.

Is it worth maintaining 3 sites related all to the same thing but the other 2 pointing back to the MAIN site? I hope Im not confusing you guys so let me break it down and would love to hear all feed back!

MAIN SITE = products only
BLOG = news, videos MP3, with links going back to main site
YOU TUBE CLONE (thinking of starting) will be videos and ads just for this music type with all links pointing back to main site.

    It certainly does, especially if all three rank in the SERPs or are supporting each other to get the primary page ranked.

        Link wheels and many other SEO plans are based on this.

        Your money site is supported - directly with some other keyword rich domains directly under it.

        The layers go under those with some web 2.0, article and video marketing, etc.

    Its a good idea, but you also need to try and actively ensure you have a flow of traffic into the 'feeder' sites also through networking, seo etc to feed through to the main site.
