Aweber and other Opt-In methods...

So in essence, if I come up with a product and give it away free, then create a website with the Opt-in to get their email contact information and they get the product free, then I can turn around and email those people a similar product where I could get a commission on the sale?
So looking at Aweber, I pay like $19 per month for 500 subs.
I have a product I spent money for and know people would like it free.
So I get their contact and send them similar products, this is pretty much what Aweber is used for?
Thanks

I think you have described the process pretty well. You mention that you have spent money on the product that you plan on giving away - just ensure that this product has giveaway rights, this is crucial if you don't want to run into any issues.

Yep. Just don't forget that that list represents your potential "regular" customers. Treat them well. Don't just send sales pitch after sales pitch to them or they'll probably unsubscribe in droves. Give them a reason to stay on your list. Send emails that offer real value and maybe teach them something useful and don't ask for anything in return. That's your investment in the relationship and builds good will with your list members. That kind of good Karma will come back to you in the form of something we call the "Law of Reciprocity." All that means is that if you give good stuff away for free, your list members will feel compelled to return the favor by buying what you offer later on. That's ultimately the secret to long-term success with your list.

Remember: Give and you shall receive.

@OP - you got it spot on. Give away, treat your customers like gold, and they will treat you like gold in return.

Remember Newton's third law of motion? "Every action has its equal and opposite reaction". So very true.

Ahh it's been a while since I heard this law.. Make me want to pick up a book and start reading all his laws again. Be careful with the legal rights issue and license. Best of luck!

I think he said something about "gravity" too ... though Clickbank apparently has a rather different concept of it. :p

Pay particular notice to the licence that comes with the product you purchased. If it's PUO (Persnal Use Only) you have no rights to re-sell the product.

Very true a little tip where you can have the best of both Worlds. Give value to your list 9 times out of 10 by sending them helpful information based on the niche they signed up to your list on.

Also be sure to add a signature to all your emails with a few banners promoting affiliate products for example. You can help them directly with your emails and sell to them indirectly. Make sense?

    Hello DaWarrior,

You're absolutely right about how the whole process works.

I agree with everyone in this string. Make sure you have the
rights to give the product away for free.

Aweber is a really good autoreponder. It's very simple to use
    and has many incredible features!

Think of Email Marketing as a relationship building channel. You're
going to be providing lots of value to your subscribers and they
will trust your advice and product recommendations.

Would you purchase a recommendation from an acquaintance or your friend?

    Aweber has many good features:
    • Tracking clicks, conversion rates, subscriber locations, etc...
(very important to know how your campaigns are doing)
    • Pre-designed Web Form and Newsletter templates
    • Integration capability with many 3rd party services
    • Linking your blog posts with an Aweber list
    • And many more...
An average earning is $1 to $3 per subscriber per month.

I'm guessing you're trying to build an affiliate marketing business.
Make sure your niche has a large range of direct and relative products.

    Hope this helps.

    Good luck,
    Swarup

Companies pay people to give away free samples of their products in supermarkets, malls etc. in hopes that they will like it and buy the full version of their products and become regular customers.

In essence that's what you're trying to do with an ethical bribe... just that once you have those prospects in your list, you can market different complementary products to them.

That not the ONLY way to use aWeber but yes, that is a simple and commonly-used one. Yes, do NOT just sell to your list, they will quickly stop reading your emails and even unsubscribe. Only one in three mails at most should plug something. You will sell MORE that way, trust me. Oh, and you could think about SELLING the report, not giving it, you will get less subscribers but you will know they are BUYERS.

Who says you can't earn money as an eBay affiliate any more? My stats say otherwise

Thanks everyone. Good info here and a lot more if I perform a search.
I guess I have this great idea on giving away my product which I own exclusive rights to because I had it created for me. But want to target a particular niche where tons of members belong to bunch of forums (not IM).
Anyways, I am sure the best way is to make a plan.
    Thanks everyone

There are 3 ways to target your audience on forums:
      • Joint Ventures
      • Advertising on the forum: Banner/Text Ads and Email Broadcasts to their entire subscribers list

Lol, everybody wander too far away from what the OP was initially asking in the first place. Anyways, good info. guys

Regarding to the OP's question, yes, that's what Aweber is all about, and you can also look at getresponse.

Yep, this is a great plan - as long as you execute it correctly. Be polite and non-spammy when sending them similar products (don't send one per day or anything).. but yeah, sucking in potential customers with a free gift is a tactic that has been around forever - because it works!
