advertiser aspect? "new guy"

hello i'm new to online marketing.

i uderstand how the affiliate makes money, but i dont understand the advertisers part.

say a guy want to sell his droid app for 2 bucks and signs up for free, how does network and affiliates make money? make him raise his price? and how does the network tracking know when they make a sale? does advertiser have to change his web site or add tracking somewhere?

Thanks if you guys could clear this up for me would help me get a better grasp of the big picture.

    I'm not sure you quite get it. A person is selling a product. Affiliates get a portion of all sales made through their affiliate link. Thats all there is to it.

      okay i understand that as i have already made some money.

      i dont understand if the guy selling product wants 2 dollars and item, if he gets 2 dollars a sale? where's my money come from? is there a price change somewhere?
      or does network take cut and i take cut and he take cut but gets more sales?
