You said cut price but you didn't say how much. For many things being sold you have to hold back the price so people can learn about the offering and see the value first before you stun them with a price. With no perceived value for the product sales can be very difficult.

For article writing though most people understand what value there is and would probably like to know the price up front.

Sounds like you're negotiable but still might want a suggested starting price.

The other thing would be to consider adding a picture and fleshing out your profile. The 3 main tenets of successful selling is prospects are more receptive if they can:
Know you | Like you | Trust you

The internet is even harder because of all the anonymity. Be (or appear to be) a real person and you should do better.

What would be a reasonable rate given the circumstances?

Here's some offers you can try:

Get 3 articles in exchange for testimonials.

    $3 each or 2 for $5

    $2 each or 3 for $5

    Offer a no risk guarantee.

If people buy and like what you write or at least tolerate it then you can send them a survey about what you could do better. I do that whenever I do workshops. The good ones become testimonial fodder and the bad ones are reflected on to see where I can improve.

You'll have to get your work in the hands of customers though before you can start getting valuable feedback. At this point, hitting the right price point is likely going to be your best bet to get this rolling for you.

Is your blog your real experiences? Also, are you a native English speaker? What I have seen was not terrible, but there were some things in there that I don't associate with someone who grew up speaking English.

Also, I agree with the above, you need to set prices.

And I can detect the lack of confidence in your copy.

      Stick to the necessary facts.

Ok, so you suggest it's better to leave out my lack of experience? I don't know what you mean about me not being a native english speaker. I have lived in the UK all my life.

Ok, lol - I get it.

Some of the words and the way you word your words appears unusual to me - but that happens with some UK writers. Please don't be offended

Yes, ditch the lack of experience.

I want to know what you can do for me, not what you can't do.

      You are marketing yourself, right?

When you go to the store, and looking to buy a product - will the label accentuate the positive things or negative things?

Just give us the simple facts of what you have done, and what you believe yourself to be capable of. Leave out the doubt.

You can always take on a job and if it appears to be something you don't think you can handle, you can explain this to who ever needs to know (only) and hand the money back and wait for the job you can handle.
