Advice for an FML Clone?

Today I came up with what I think is a pretty clever FML clone concept that has yet to be created. On a whim I grabbed the exact domain name that I was hoping was available.

Does anyone have advice for launching this kind of site? I googled "fml script" and found quiet a handful of options for creating an fml-like site, so I know this is possible without too much trouble.

Initially advertising/promoting it would be the biggest hurdle. I think I am going to tackle it in the winter when I am on break from college.

Any thoughts, advice, insight would be appreciated.

last week. After looking around at a bunch of scripts I decided to go with FMyScript. It installed pretty easy on my HostGator account. I have been able to tweak the templates a little bit to do what I want, but there are still a couple of things I would like to change but I need to work with the code a little bit more.

I have a couple more domain names that I might launch with FMyScript. You might want to check out the WP Plug-In "Mingle". I didn't find it until after I bought the FMS. It doesn't appear to be exactly the same, but it might work and it's free.

Like any other site, promoting and getting traffic is tough unless you have a large advertising budget.

I just got started, and it's a SLOW start so I don't know if my advice is any good.

I am promoting my site in my forum signatures and postings, but I don't really have a lot of them. I'm buying adspace on sites and putting up banners. I'm advertising the FREE SHIRT in all of my banner ads. I've been wearing the shirts around my local shopping mall which has been PACKED this Black Friday weekend, and it is sending some traffic. There have even been people searching for "idiot boss shirt".

This week I will be sending out Press Releases with Idiot Boss Shirts to some of the bigger radio shows and some business magazines. I will also be posting the PR to PR Websites over the next couple of days.
