  • I think blogs are easier to keep up to date and many are really search friends. Some like wordpress have ecommerce bolt on modules (WP commerce). Joomla has some fairly large ecom extensions too.

    Also, if your not sure what your selling and want to see what your "readers" like a Blog + paypal + order fulfillment or Blog + drop ship may be a good way to test.

  • I think you need to have an ecommerce with a blog if you're serious about building a business for the long-term. Just look at what the big dogs are doing.

    You can have a separate domain for the blog or use yourecommercesite.com/blog

    Hello guys, I have been looking around at several ideas for starting an e-commerce website vs. starting a blog and running some type of advertisement on it. I know this is a very general question, but which one do you think will require more time commitment to get going? It seems to be a blog will require less time and money but that might mean the return will be less.
