    Offline for me too David.

EDIT: I tried a few times for about 10 minutes and it worked neither time.
Seems to be on now though.

    Hey David,

I was just about to post about this and saw your thread. I just tried to log in to Aweber and they appear to be down for me too.

The Aweber webform was not appearing on my sites so after unsuccessfully trying the aweber site I came here as I knew it would be reported here if others were having the same problem.

        I dont know about you...

But if I'm paying these a**holes $20 a month for their service, and they're down...

        I want two things:

        1) A notice BEFOREHAND that they're going to be down
        2) A partial refund or credit for the time that they're down.

I was going to send a mailing out, but COULDN'T because they neglected to tell me that they were going to be down for maintenance.

It's not like we log in EVERY SINGLE DAY to check the news. They need to start EMAILING people when they want to perform these updates!

Good thing I backed up my list last week.

I'm bout to set up an autoresponder script on my own server and say fu** these aweber a**holes. They're messing with my money and my business!

Well, if you think you're angry, I'm paying $750/month due to the size of my list

This is why I'm gradually dumping all third-party services and putting them on my own server. I've had it with all of these services having downtime.

It's still down for me as well and I have a broadcast that's supposed to be going out right now. This is happening much too often with them and to be honest I'm thinking of switching over to another provider like get response.

I opened a support ticket with them on the 12th to have them do something for me. It's really simple, change the AR series number from X to Y on the few thousand members that came in before date Z.

Now I could do it my self, by hand, one by one, right. If I had access to the database, would take 10 min, tops!

      Well, it's STILL NOT DONE!!!

WTF, I have promotions to send out to this list!

Their support says 24 hours... lol!

Oh yeah, in addition to the $750/month to aweber, I spend about $500/day on AdWords.

Yeah, I'm really, really over hosted services that can't keep their s*** up and running.

After a few attempts, I got in - but no css stylesheet attached so it looked like something from 1995. I went to add a new message and then the connection was "broken". So annoying.

What's more - I wonder if this would affect sign ups? I know that if you use their java script for your opt in form, it could disappear when this s##t happens, right?

That's not an ideal scenario when you're shovelling adwords clicks through 24/7 to an opt in page that has no opt in form.

    Grrr...

it is affecting signups. i actually had someone email me saying that they tried to sign up for my free course, and they couldn't because the form wasn't working.

    GEE, I WONDER WHY?

FU** AWEBER. I'M DEFINITELY INSTALLING THAT A/R SCRIPT ON MY SERVER LATER TODAY.

It's like we're giving Aweber our money for NOTHING. We get lousy support, lack of communication, and for what? $20+ a month?

I feel bad for the dude shelling out $750 a month to these di**heads.

Get response is $2.05 cheaper and come with more bonuses - $250 worth of 'em.

What's funny about that is that the last few emails I got from Marlon were sent from his Aweber account.

I also logged into my Aweber account this morning twice without a hitch.

      Makes me wonder.

I've always been a massive Aweber fan but I'm getting increasingly frustrated with the amount of downtime at the moment.

Whenever I subscribe to someone's list I can always tell they use Aweber when there's a big delay waiting for the confirmation email.

Even sending myself test broadcasts seems to become slower by the day.

I hate to grumble but I'm at a point where I'm going to investigate other potential services.

Still, you can't have it all i guess!

While I don't have a massive list, there are a few reasons why I did decide to signup with AWeber even after they upgraded their entire site and service with that new tracking.

The main reason's were that it was always recommended by the people I followed. Every-so-often I'd got told that AWeber were the best, and they didn't even have anything to say about GetResponse! - AWeber have a better looking user area, with simple and effective processes. I don't like the GetResponse confirmation pages with all that extra cr@p they add, I mean, what is the point in that? And it just doesn't happen with those pages, what about the ones were you confirm that you want to unsubscribe. They try and get you onto someone elses list?!

...So for me, I really liked AWeber, and went with it due to all the GREAT things I'd been told about it!

No company wants to go down, but yeah, it would be nice to know more about why it did go down, and what had to be fixed. It might help people understand how it was unexpected, and see that it couldn't have been prevented.

I think you summed that up pretty well there Lee, and as much as I hate the downtime, I'd rather not have any self-hosted autoresponder, as you never know what kind of problems are just around the corner!

Guess we'll juts have to wait and see?!

      Thanks

Why not use your own confirmation page and removal page? GR offers both; aweber does not offer the latter- at least I've never seen it.

This is the 2nd time this month that Aweber has been down (unannounced and unplanned). They had downtime on Oct. 30th, and now today. It's really annoying when you know you're losing signups. Even worse, click-tracking doesn't work when Aweber.com goes down. This means you get people emailing you, "The link doesn't work." I feel especially bad for people who are using the Javascript version for opt-in boxes. Apparently, the Javascript opt-in boxes disappear when Aweber.com goes down.

As a result of today's downtime (combined with the downtime on 10/30), I am now monitoring Aweber's uptime---using a web monitoring service. I will get an email when Aweber.com goes down. This way I can pause any Adwords ads that are running.

Here's what I don't understand. Why is the "Add Lead" script linked to Aweber.com's uptime? Wouldn't it be possible for Aweber to continue adding leads for clients---even if their site is offline? Surely, there's a way to separate the two. Even more annoying than the downtime is the vague explanations for the downtime. "Our developers had to sort out an issue that popped up." Really? That's the best explanation they can give?!

Hey David, I sent out my broadcast about an hour ago and had no problems.

I was using the new add twitter feature by aweber and it also appeared on twitter updates in real time which was good for some extra clickthroughs too.

I didn't experience any problems at all, but don't know what variables there could have been.

Hope it works for you man.

If anyone wants empirical evidence and documented proof that aweber has been working fine today

just ask, I got it recorded.
