How "Gurus" have Million Dollar Launches...

Ok so what is the easiest way to get traffic?

Very simple; GET OTHER PEOPLE TO SEND YOU THE TRAFFIC.

Think about it. All of the big gurus in Internet Marketing have these great big launches. Why? Because it Works...

They Don't worry about their traffic... All they worry about is getting affiliates to promote their product. And once they have these affiliates, they simply let them go for it... AND... Boom... They end up with Million Dollar launches.

So, What does this have to do with you?

Well, how can the little guy, like me and you, do the same thing?

First of all, we have to simply what and see what the gurus do.

Second, we have to spend our time in getting affiliates that will promote our product instead of spending time trying to create all of our own traffic.

Third, (This is where the trick comes in) YOU have to offer your affiliates a good deal!!! This is very important and will get your affiliate to promote or not to promote...

So, how do you give your affiliate a good deal? Well, do what I do: Give away a prize. For my affiliate program for my copywriting cd, I have it set up to where I'm giving away a $499 Apple Ipad until Dec. 8 at noon EST.

Here's the secret to make sure you don't lose money. I very carefully figured out exactly how much a one customer is worth and how much customers (x) I would need to have before I can afford to give away a $500 product like the Ipad.

Once I figured that out I simply put a disclaimer at the bottom of the page that said x amount of products have to be sold in the time of this promotion before anyone can win the Ipad.

Following the steps above will definitely boost your sales tremendously. Naturally, you will have to test to find the best prize to give away and on how much leads/sales you will need to make sure that you don't lose any money.

I hope this helps you get more traffic and if you have ideas to add to this don't forget to reply...

That's part of the equation of having a successful JV Program. The secret sauce of the big "Guru" launches is in the "Guru's" mega list and their big dog jv partner's mega list combining for a "MEGA LAUNCH"

I hate to break it to anyone reading this, but it's not as simple as:

      Giving away prizes
      Being a good person
      having a GREAT product
      or even...building relationships...

It all boils down to what can you do for them...

And if you're a "little guy" the honest to gods truth is, there isn't much you can do for them no matter how hard you try, no matter how good your product is, or how good your prize is.

Just take a look at the launch circle in this niche anyway...It's always the same people, in most cases following the same pattern. For example, right now it's traffic products which in all honesty...Most of them have sucked to high heaven, but that's a different story I'm guessing.

One launches then 4 more follow with similar products to capitalize on the BUZZ.

What do you think would happen if someone here on this forum that didn't have a huge list launched a course here on the forum that was seriously the best thing since sliced bread?

Everyone was saying how good it was
It has testimonials of people making tons of money with it
Results from buyers were documented and verifiable

Do you think the gurus would look at it and say..."hmmm, I bet my subscribers and readers would really like this product, I think I'll promote this to them"

HELL NO...because in most cases the product owner:

couldn't reciprocate on the same level
Isn't selling the product for enough money to make it worth the gurus time
Doesn't have enough up and down sells to make the EPC's high enough
      Isn't in the "club"

If you want to have a million dollar launch, and get into the easy money, I'm going to give you the secret sauce right here....

      1. Start list swapping like there is no tomorrow until you get your subscriber base to about 40,000+
      2. Start dropping compliments about one of the bigger attainable what I like to consider mid-level gurus
      3. Promote 2 or 3 of their launches in a row HARD....like 4 mailings hard
      4. Aggressively issue verbal beat downs to anyone that says anything bad about your guru target
      5. Pay top dollar to attend your guru targets next seminar
      6. Profit

        This, this, 100 times this.

I've lost count of the number of people that have PM'd me wanting me to promote their 'product'.

Even when it's a good product most people don't pay any attention to what I'm going to get out of it.

All they see is how one email from me will result in a ton of sales and loads more affiliate mailings (owning an affiliate network has it's perks after all).

But the simple fact is, I don't care how much money I can make you I care how much money you can make me...

Except when I'm the one doing the approaching and touting my affiliate program. At which point I make damned sure the other guy is going to make as much money as humanly possible.

        High commissions.
Lifetime cookie valid for everything not just the front end.
        Reciprocal mailings.
A proven sales process with a load of up and cross sells that they get paid on.
        Etc

        Food for thought,

        Andy

Every "Guru" started out as a "little guy".......

Yes but not even .0001% of all the '"little guys" ever become gurus.

Not to pick on your post, but it's not that these guys just give out good rates and prizes - they do, but they also have years and years of clients, affiliate, and lists all pushing for them. I suppose the positive point to that is most of us only dream about million dollar launches - copying what they do and building up ourselves, even trying to attain a goal few of us will ever reach, we can still have $100,000 or even $10,000 launches and be successful beyond our wildest dreams. Everyone wants to be Michael Jordan, but most people wouldn't mind being Dennis Rodman either.

Build up a big list in your niche.

Then the gurus in that niche will respect you.

Don't have a big list? Start sending traffic to your site you'll get there.

The affiliate giveaway is a good idea and does help you get more affiliates, Bobby and Adeel do this a lot and I can only imagine they'd do it because it works.

I think it's a great way to get all of those "smaller" affiliates.

This is a very interesting thread, but there are a million misconceptions floating around -- thought I'd say a few words to contribute my two cents.

Firstly, I don't know when this whole myth of guru power will die down.. They profit from this mentality a lot of people have, doesn't anyone get it?

JV's won't just mail for you because you can mail back -- they will mail for you if your product and marketing materials have a shot at converting decently AND you could probably reciprocate with the list of buyers you accumulate in the process.

Secondly, if anyone thinks that JV's can send more traffic than Google Adwords or Media Buys can, then I'm sorry but you are amazingly mistaken

Look at Andy Jenkins for example:

His Video Boss product has no doubt had JVs pushing it recently, but just look at the Super High Quality of his marketing materials, video content, email content and design.. His product would have done just as well with a juiced up Adwords or FB Ads campaign, and possibly even better with a targeted media campaign.

No one needs JVs to push them hard if they have a solid offering and awesome marketing materials. More people need to start relying on themselves for traffic and quality lead generation.

There's this whole myth of "Let me send tones of traffic or have JVs send tones of traffic to my average looking landing page"

People who are actually doing pretty well on their own are sending little traffic to high quality marketing materials and high quality products, building high quality lists of people actually bent on taking action, and not hundreds of thousands of subscribers without a penny to spend.

You can do just as well with a list of 500 good subscribers as you can with a mass list of 500,000 people -- I can vouch for that despite having a much larger list today.
